New OK GO Video!
New OK GO Video!
#1
You guys remember this band? They did the video with the treadmills a year or two back?

This time they've done an amazing Rube Goldberg machine -- this video
is all one continuous shot! (Although given the band's
condition at the start and what happens at the end, it's pretty clear
it's not the first take.) Check it out! (High Def version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qybUFnY7Y8w.)

(Oh, and an article about it from the UK's Daily Mail can be read http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... storm.html)

The thought of what it would take to set that rig up again over and over ... O_O

Not to mention the fact thatthey destroyed at least one TV per run...

As I recall, there are 2 cuts in the video. It's hard to detect them.

Huh. I'll have to rewatch later, after my interview today, and see if I can spot them.

Okay, I didn't wait. I think I spotted one of them -- when the camera goes through the curtains below the water feature and follows the silver ball past the Japanese-style artwork on silk. But I couldn't spot the second.

And one piano, as well.

In that, they're in good company:

That's one of my favorite Art of Noise (20th-21st Century incarnation) tracks.

After watching the higher quality HD of that Rube Goldberg video...yeah, I can spot the cut points, or potential cut points, more easily. But it's even more hilarious. Especially all the signs that they had earlier unsuccessful trial runs, like the pile of broken TVs, as has already been pointed out. =D

EDIT: Ok Go posted a couple of related videos on how this was made -
