Good news and bad news for NASA
Good news and bad news for NASA

The Register: Trump to NASA: Fly me (or some other guys) to the Moon

Quote:Trump on Monday signed off on Space Policy Directive 1, an order that the American space agency prioritize the establishment of a base on the Moon and eventual plans to land people on Mars.
...
While that sounds good there is a caveat. The government wants NASA to look outwards, but also wants it to do less work looking at Earth. The latest budget recommendations see NASA's Earth sciences funding cut by 13 per cent, leading the agency to cancel its involvement in some climate monitoring.

So, yeah - something that some of us have been pushing for for years has been turned into bread and circuses.

Yeah, this reads like a ploy to get rid of NASA's Earth science influence.

Of course, they've been pushing that fake "global climate change" agenda for decades now. That Antipresident Numpty, he's looking to refocus them back on what made the American space program great! /sarcasm

It's a sad day when I have to be against a resumed interest in space exploration, but it's been nearly a year of sad days already, so by now I'm just bitter.
