Teaser from Chapter 1 of DW3
Teaser from Chapter 1 of DW3
#1
A youngish fellow who seemed to be doing the "man-in-black" thing
(black suit and tie, white shirt, Ray-bans) came running up to
us. "Sana-chan," he panted, "are you all right?"

"I'm okay, Ray," (Or maybe Rei -- I couldn't tell through the
glasses if he were Japanese or not. If it even mattered.) Sana
was chattering at full tilt again. "Doug here saved me, he's a
martial artist like me, did you see him? Doug, this is Ray, he's
my lover and my pimp!"

As I stared at Sana, my arm shot out to grab the guy by the knot
of his tie. Without looking at him I dragged his face to mine
and said, with that certain soft menace I reserve for truly
special occasions, "You have exactly 20 seconds to explain that
in terms that don't result in your hospitalization."

This is the same teaser you posted before... I was kinda hoping for something new."I was an Otaku before those kids came along and changed the meaning of the word."

Okay, how about this?

* * *

"Oooo, I *hate* that Hayama! Hate! Hate! Hate! Hatehatehate!"
Sana chanted as she stomped around the room. You could almost
see little wisps of smoke jetting out of her ears. The kid must
be a real piece of work to drive Sana into this kind of fit.

I stood up and cracked my knuckles. "You wants I should maybe
*lean* on this Hayama, boss?" I said in my best bent-nose Yakuza
leg-breaker voice. Over on the couch, Sagami looked like he was
caught somewhere between laughter and disapproval.

"A kind offer, Doug-san, but I truly feel that Sana should
refrain from dispatching thugs to deal with her classroom
problems," Sana's mom (decked out, as always, in a fine kimono
and wearing on her head a small float suitable for Mardi Gras)
informed me soberly. I tried to ignore the chipmunk in her
headdress which nodded its agreement with the lecture. Then she
turned to Sana. "The jail time you will have to serve afterward
will have serious repercussions on your schoolwork, and will
certainly limit the roles you will be offered in the future,"
Kurata-san serenely advised her daughter. Mama has the most evil
deadpan sense of humor I've ever encountered, and I want to be
just like her when I grow up.

I remembered the first one, but I had forgotten about the second. And yes, that last paragraph is just perfect [Image: smile.gif] .

The problem with this latest teaser is that it implies that Doug intends to grow up. Come on, we know him better'n that! [Image: wink.gif]
