While digging around the web, I cam across the following

It's interesting, because many of the locations in the anime were inspired by actual locations in and around Lake Ashi and Hakone. Most of Tokyo-3 is a golf course, but some thing stand through. Some places are specifically recogniseable, including Shrines, train stations, convenience stores and the like - many of which are recogniseable in real life. Along with some interesting legends and details.
Unfortunately, the Megaupload link on one of the blogs was killed by the FBI....
