[meta]Fenwiki Update Thread
Re: [meta]Fenwiki Update Thread

Swapped out the old Mars entry for the one we discussed a while back. The History of Mars section's still an effective blank, but it's not as ugly a placeholder.

Finally got around to posting what's written of Legend of Galactic Girls. I hit the wiki's maximum page size before chapter 2 was up, so I've split the story by chapter.

http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... ctic_girls

I've also added requests to each of my main characters' writeups that anyone wanting to use them before LoGG is finished e-mail me first.

The main Fen Sports page is up. It could use some work...

http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... ortsConfusedtart

The Astroball page is somewhat more complete (but still needs cross-references).

http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... :astroball

Edit: And I just updated the "Stories" section of a few character and ship pages, including adding "Stories" sections to all the SOS-Dan's character pages.

(Hmmmmm... Why is it that somebody who didn't want Fenspace to become Haruhi-fic is the only one to use the SOS-Dan in short Fenspace stories?)

Added a few more bits & pieces of the Convention thread to the story index page: http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... _thread_go

You should be able to see roughly how I'm trying to thread the stories. As they get more intertwined it might get tricker, but we shall persevere.

Also, if you've got a working Fenwiki user account and your original source files for your Convention stories, feel free to add 'em to the index on
your own. Makes *my* life that much easier. [Image: wink.gif]

More tidying (including moving the page about Pallas from "Ships" to "Places | Main Belt") and cross-linking, and some fleshing out of the
Boskonians on the Characters page (including posting Don Espisito's writeup to the Wiki).

Added a stub page to the Government section for Fenspace's cross-faction military body, Operation Great Justice.

So far, all it's got is a recruiting poster... Anybody want to give it a proper writeup?

Updated the photo of Mercury, added a few more system-body images, put "stub" tags on some of the place writeups.

Uploaded, but did not add to the Tranquility Base description, an image from Apollo 11.

Currently working on a stat block for the Venus page...

Thanks.

The Venus page now has a stat box, and an adventure hook that ties together two bits of data I discovered while doing the research: "Rumours that some classically-inclined Fen plan to move asteroid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_VE68]2002 VE68 from its Cytherean quasi-orbit into a true Cytherean orbit and rename it http://www.nineplanets.org/hypo.html#neith]Neith are, so far, only rumours."

As nobody seemed to have any further input on the Earth writeup, I've added pass 2 to the wiki as-is. Updates and nifty ideas can be tipped in there as
needed.

A grab-bag of updates, because I needed one bit of information for the draft ISS writeup and got sidetracked...

Ship writeups: Vioarr, Avril Arrow (yeah, I know - sorry I took so long to post it), SS Hades, and Spacecraft Greenwood (which completes the listings for Space Docks)

Section added to Rockhounds writeup: "Known Space Rocks"

Items added to places:Earth entry:
  • LEO: Rockhounds asteroid SR-06 / Nouveau Paris
  • L5: Rockhounds asteroid SR-01 / Space Station Beta, Rockhounds asteroid SR-02 (which doubles the number of listed habitats at L5)

Yuku hates my links, so you'll have to go look them up yourself...

Tidied up some of the Characters pages:
  • The longer crew lists are now in two-column format on the character index page (except for Grover's Corners, which is in three-column format).
  • A few typos fixed in various pages.
  • Images that I know are safe to use under copyright law (because I took them) have replaced the previous images for Kohran Li and Yayoi Fujisawa. (Yes, they look somewhat more plastic now, but they are androids... )
  • A link to more photos added to Yayoi's page.

Oh, and I have some spoiler-stuff up on my own discussion page. (Cobalt Greywalker and Mal Fnord have already noticed that...)

New page: the Fenspace Calendar.

http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... r:calendar

The Timeline lists what happened in previous years; the Calendar lists what happens every year. It's a bit bare-bones at the moment, but includes
everything that was suggested in the "Holidays in Fenspace" thread and few other random comments in a few other random threads.

New page: Fenspace Theme Parks

http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... heme_parks

Also added some dates to the Calendar - creators' birthdays for the Browncoats, Fivers, Warsies, and Wizards; Sputnik Day; and Launch Day, the day the
first 'waved ship left Earth for the first time. (And Noah Scott's birthday, which is not the same as mine... but that completes the Stellvians'
birthday list.)

Now that I've let a cat out of the bag...

Updated the pages for Stellvia Corporation, the Space Patrol, Stellvia station, Noah Scott, Sora Hasegawa, Kohran Li, Yayoi Fujisawa, and Yoriko Nikaido, and
my "talk" page. That mysterious "*WHITENOISE* Foundation" which funds the Patrol now has its correct name, as does the AI in its main
computer system.

And there's a complete list of "core" Stellvians, up to January 2014, on the Stellvia Corporation page. (When in doubt about the new ones, treat
them as the characters they're based on.)

FYI: Upgrading Dokuwiki to the latest release, so please don't add anything to the wiki until I give the all clear, I can't guarantee that new articles will still exist otherwise.

ETA: 1:10 PM Mountain and it looks like the upgrade went without a significant hitch. Users will have to log back in if they want to edit, but the content's still good.

Legend of Galactic Girls chapter 2 seems to have disappeared...

(I'm going through the other pages, just in case. That seems to be the only story page that either didn't make it through the upgrade intact, or
doesn't like my browser.)

Hm, that's weird. The page is there - I can get to the content via the edit versions command - but it's not rendering for some reason. Neither are the
sidebars, which is doubly weird.

Fnord, that applet you use on the User pages to say when they last edited the Wiki is acting up. The dates seem to be garbled.

ARGH.

Okay, I've tried about a dozen different things with the wiki, including reuploading the old version to a test directory, and it *still* won't load the
page. As it stands, I'm thinking it might be a PHP issue - the host upgraded that last week - so I'm going to have to track down our Action Sysadmin
and see if he can't take a look, see if there's something in the error logs we can use to track down the problem. Stay tuned.
