Top scientist resigns – admits Global Warming is a scam

#26
Hey! Hey guys! Remember when Richard Muller made claims that global warming was a scam and you were all liking up his words?
Turns out Richard Muller has some scientific integrity!
Quote:But Muller unexpectedly told a congressional hearing last week that the
work of the three principal groups that have analyzed the temperature
trends underlying climate science is "excellent.... We see a global
warming trend that is very similar to that previously reported by the
other groups."
Hey! Imagine that! When he actually starts doing the fucking research and looking at the data and running it through the equations he gets the same fucking results as everybody fucking else! AMAZING! When he stops throwing out unsupported speculation and is forced to back up his words with actual evidence, he makes a complete fucking 180 and agrees with the sceintific consensus! COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED!
Then again, I'm certain getting $150,000 from oil billionaires the Koch brothers had nothing to do with his noted tendency to deny global climate change. I can only imagine the looks on their faces when they realised this guy was an actual scientist who actually feels the need to back up his statements and can actually admit he was wrong instead of the paid puppet they were hoping for1.
Note that his results are preliminary, based on a low percentage of the data so far but the likelihood of his data not conforming to the consensus is low. We can wait for the papers to be published and reviewed if you really want.

And then you got stuff like this going on... Seriously, there's got to be some sort of conspiracy going on. People are actively trying to deflect research into the phenomenon.

Well, there are a couple culprits you can point your finger at. The Bush II administration was about as hostile to science as you could get and not go technologically backwards. Many right-wing Christian sects have an ideological investment in an unchanging world, particularly but not limited to the "Young Earthers". Acknowledgment of climate change could lead to regulatory changes that would cut into the profits of corporations whose activities are known or suspected to contribute to the change. Just to name a few possibilities.
