An interesting set of gadget tropes to pick; I suppose they pruned the list for those that were scientifically testable as opposed to "freeze rays" and such.
I think that the Batman-style grapnel/ascender rig is probably /possible/... just not quite as small as the cartoon makes it out to be, and probably hellaciously expensive. [Image: smile.gif] The actual componentry and machining would be far beyond what the Mythbusters could spend a few days on, but then, we're talking Bruce Wayne's Billions, here. And they did prove that the ascender itself was doable, and could lift a man at a reasonable speed.--
