Cavern of Transcendence This Weekend?

#26
we spent MUCH more time doing the preparatory hollows arc than the actual Trial.

we should have team wiped.

I was lock-focussed on the final door, and didn't see the group behind us aggro. So I open the door and we aggro the group inside.

Terrence saved the day!

What I Learned From This Run:

* Don't piss Amberlee off, or she'll make you think you're an 8-year-old girl. Or just make you pound her enemies into a thin paste. Atta found
this out the hard way.

* Quicksilver Nano makes a handy light source in dark Troll caves.

* Terrence is still The Tank, even exemped down to mere human-like levels

* Flamebinder has a knack for pissing off large groups. Ouch.

* Pooky really -really- likes the taste of Troll cavern floors.

* Silicon Sabre has excellent fashion sense. I know who's designing Nano's next costume!

* Cyberman 8 really knows how to arrive in the nick of time. I lost count how many times I was in the red and he shows up, fists a-blazin', and pulls the
aggro away.

* Gamma's debuffs rock my world, even if the Trolls -do- tend to run around and aggro the whole map while wearing their radioactive clouds.

* Other things being equal, Madness Mages kick more ass than Ruin Mages do if they're attacking their own peeps. Both still suck if they're attacking
you, though.

Sadly, Cyberman 8 and Sylia now owe....someone....something. We both bet that Atta could take his entire gang. We were wrong, though he took out three mobs
before going down.

And she got EVEN SHINIER after she got all her buffs back. [Image: laugh.gif]:

That had to be the funniest situation ever, when I basically managed to have him herd the various Igneous near
my own corpse so I could transfer my red, orange, green, and blue insps to him. XD

She really did have the worst luck. It's like....every time we ran into some huge group, at least HALF would aggro to her.

This led to perhaps the funniest run through the first half of the caves as we hit blue and green trolls like a freaking tidal wave. They caught
up with us near the end, though.

Sleek is sexy, mm-hmm.

"Madness? THIS! IS! AMBERLEE!"

Things I learned from my first run:

- Foxboy needs to hire someone to stand next to his father and explain technology

- I have NO SENSE OF DIRECTION without the map feature

- Teleport isn't working for me. I may respec it out sometime.

- Opmegs needs to set his sister on fire.

- There wasn't as many funny moments as the later one

- Stampeding through the Troll Tunnels can go horribly wrong so quickly.

- Eva for the win!

Well that's why the Devs gave us Lingering Radiation, sadly I was exempted below the level I picked up that power.

The only thing that beats a glowing troll that can't hit you, do significant damage, and has negative resistances, is one that can't run away and has
no regen on top of all that.

The sad part about playing with such an aoe heavy group that if my anchor is anywhere near the middle of the group (where they do the best job debuffing
everyone) they drop like rocks.

Things I have learned from two runs:

- Trolls BURN GOOD

- beating the final group to a pulp is not necessary (or even possible for both of our runs), all you need to do is smack the group guarding the kid.

- Treat your tanks well, for they will save your ass from the aggro magnet you are (both Fren and Gamma qualify for this)

- Radiant Aura (the only heal Gamma has) doesn't come up often enough or heal enough save everyone. I'd need to be Rhea to do that.

- And I'll second the Amberlee=scary in whole new ways. (Making Terr think he is an 8 year old girl is frowned on, he has no interest in their favorite
extracurricular activity in that state)

Just barely -- I was down for the second time and had to do a 3-for-1 insp convert to get a wake. Then I had to rest up with the fight -- including that freakin' huge purple Ig in the middle (was he a Giant Monster or what?) -- running at my back while I stared at the three yellows harassing the kid. I heard someone yell out something about rescuing Sam, so I just ran for it and kept whaling on the rockboys, barely surviving. And then the big purple ground me into a bloody paste about 30 seconds later.

I agree. Dad also needs to learn to get his assignments done early and not to hassle me right down to the wire of when it's due. ><

I love him dearly, but his sense of timing royally stinks.

It worked out well for us. Once you put aside the mishaps Pookie had in Atta's Cave, he was a rather good Stealth-Porter for the Trial. Better at least, than me working on Braende when we did it to begin with. Although that time we were organized and powerful enough to take out the Monster.

And just if you want to see the -whole- story.. Terr, Emet and Roy were just coming off of a BPWorld run, and Terr was discussing how nothing worthy dropped:
Quote:05-15-2008 00:01:42 [Team]Terrence Knight: Buut you two got crapload of XP
05-15-2008 00:01:43 [Team]Emet: Hmm. I dunno if I got anything...
05-15-2008 00:01:48 [Team]Terrence Knight: You too emet
05-15-2008 00:01:59 [Team]Farmin' Roy Orbison: DOOD, 1.4 _levels_
05-15-2008 00:02:23 [Team]Emet: I don't -remember- this Propehcy or Magical Conspiricy... But I dunoo. I never saw it comming.
05-15-2008 00:02:30 [Team]Terrence Knight: ...
05-15-2008 00:02:48 [Team]Terrence Knight: *goes to hunt down Amberlee's body just so he can strangle her*
05-15-2008 00:03:20 [Team]Emet: *Zaps Terr into the mindset of a 5 year old girl*
05-15-2008 00:04:01 [Team]Terrence Knight: *squels like a girl and runs around looking for a pink tu tu)
So...I misspoke when I said -Eight- year old girl....But the effect was more or less the same. That should clear matters up. [Image: laugh.gif]

... and it just so happens that I have a screenie of the Atta mind-raping. Sorta.

I do believe this was the time that Atta body-slammed his own lieutenant, but I could be wrong. Just imagine all of us in lawnchairs with popcorn and drinks
at hand, cheering madly as Amberlee's new pet went on a self-destructive rampage.

(I should also point out that we completed the mission without once laying finger on Atta directly... yay Amber!)
