Legendary Base -- What Next?

And the question this raises is, are there any defensive goodies that we haven't earned yet?

Should note...

Stuff in bases is supposed to regenerate automatically after it's busted in raids. We're not talking permanent loss of items here, just temporary.

'course, I have no idea what the time scale on that is.

Update: I poked around in the base editor last night and turned it into "secure" real estate -- which cost us, as best as I can tell, absolutely nothing. We have a goodly assortment of firepower available to us, including something we got with a group badge that apparently has a better price/performance ratio by a factor of twenty than anything else in our arsenal. (I forget what it's called, though, dammit.) And according to the badge pages, we're well on the way to earning something that may a step better than that...

Okay. Here's an update and a suggestion.

I upgraded the plot to the maximum size the game will allow. And we STILL have over 20,000,000 Prestige to spend!

The base is currently expanding to the "North" and "East". (If you call up the base map while you're in the base, you can see the
compass.

The Tport rooms have been revamped and the Arcane Tport room is gone. As is the Flyer Hanger. (But I plan to bring the hanger back soon.)

The bare bones of the new Teleport bays are operational again. No decorations or lighting is installed, and we still need two more teleporters. But what we
have is functional. And perhaps more importantly, it's all visible in a straight line from the entryway.

SUGGESTION:

For consideration. I propose that we throw open the base edit permissions to the upper ranks. I can't do this all myself anymore! It's gotten too big!
I want people to be able to make their own spaces and decorate. We have regular people in our group that I would trust not to bang things up too badly. (And if
they do, well I can clean up with my "Uber Architect" skills. Tongue )

What say you all?

You already had that ability, you know. "The Big Three" already had those privileges.

Go for it. We've got a responsible bunch of people here -- no one's going to wipe out the base for giggles. Why not let people customize?

A suggestion Logan... If we're actually redesigning with raids in mind, we should probably force people to exit the base portal through some kind of
heavily-beweaponed bottleneck...

The Legendary Base gets its own Portal Corporation Maignot Line?

Are we really going to do that? I could make the base portal room connected to the rest of the base via a long weapons corridor. But wouldn't that kind of
make it slightly inconvenient for the casual trip to the teleporters?

I can fiddle around some with Amber maybe, probably wouln't do much to the base anyway. Just look around and see probably. And I believe that everything
you buy can be sold back for 100% cost except the crafted items, so we should be fine.

On another note: I have converted all the leftover base salvage into Brainstorms (Converts into any random salvage of specified type), and stocked the Racks
with as much as they could hold (30 per). I'll keep on refilling them for as long as I have them left, or if you want some just poke me an tell me to get
the Golem. The Salvage Rack by the Invention Table still has all the costume salvage in it (40-ish sets complete, plus extras), and will hold them all until
total is dropped below 30, then it will not allow any more to be put back in.

Yeah, that's a good point. Forget I said that.

How do the weapons systems mount? Because there is nothing preventing us from lineing the walls above the teleporters with various deterrents.

Come to think of it, there may be a lot of unused wall space where we can squeze things in

This is said having no clue about the size, mounting options, or apperence of any of the defensive measures.

The weapons I've seen sit on the floor. There's some traps that are the floor too. There are sensors and detectors that mount on the ceiling. I
don't know of any weapons that do. So far as I've seen, nothing mounts on the walls.

As for the Base modding privs, I just reccomend bumping people's main-ish to the 4th/star rank (Once you trust them, of course). Leader and Cmdr have Base
edit privs... So Ya, just give Amber a one up some time, and you might see me straighten a picture by next year, if I remember (i.e. Doubt I'll do anything
other than look but would be nice to see. o.o)

That's what I'd like to do. If I'm on when you are and your main isn't up on the 2nd rank from the top, give me a shout.
