Base Size Limits
Base Size Limits

Quote:Hey all,
As a heads up, some of the new base designs have been going a little overboard, and have actually exceeded the current data size limits on bases. Unfortunately when this happens, it can corrupt the base and CS will need to revert the base to a previous version.
We’re working on a solution to expand the size limits further, but this will take some time and careful testing. In the mean time try to keep the number of items in your base to the minimum you need.
If your base has too many objects and becomes corrupted, you will need to file a ticket with Customer Service and they can reset it to a previous working version. While this is happening you will be unable to access your base.
We're looking into a few other bugs on the base forums here as well. We will post updates if anything critical shows up.
Quote:Yes, just to confirm. The exact maximum of items is impossible to pin down, but 10,000 to 12,000 items is a safe estimate. The catch is, some items take up a larger data footprint then others. For example, Storage bins with significant amounts of items in storage store all their info in the base.
One way to check how close a base is to the limits, check the info window under the "Upgrade Plot" screen. That will list how many placed items are in the base.

Now...there are only 3416 items in the Legendary base by my calculations, with decorative items naturally forming the bulk of that - there's only about 80ish non decorative pieces. So we're probably alright on expansion for the forseeable future, but it's something to bear in mind.

*snort*

we're fine.

the COED, fr'ex, burns more items in one room than we do in three. Comparatively, we've very spartan tastes, as a whole.

interesting look into the base system, though.

lol "indoor airport" well it is true that the next expansion for the Citadel is going to be to replace that paltry 3x3 aircraft hanger with a 7x7
one. Room enough for 2 arachnos flyers and a squadron of chasers. Going to try to put a pair of overhead "gantries" for flyer service and a bunch
of chaser bays with hydralic floor lifts to move them from the repair level to the upper launch platforms. I'll post pics in the appropriate spot when it
is done .. might be a while for that though. Wink
