What's the biggest thing a villain could do?
What's the biggest thing a villain could do?

Honest question here. I'm looking for input. This is Mission Architect related.
Say you're a villain looking to make a name for yourself. To make a big splash in the media.
You're gonna commit a big televised crime...or incident, or whatever...in front of TV cameras, live on the Internet, that kinda thing.
What do you do?
Kidnap a head of state? Destroy a major landmark? Atomic wedgie Statesman?
Ideas?

...just for the record, ZOMGLOL answers are good too. Wire's is great, but I do not wish to make assumptions about the sexual orientation of characters
that might be running the arc. =(

(no seriously...though it may be worth using for the lolz anyway)

"Can you destroy the earth?"

"Egad! I HOPE not! That's where I keep all of my stuff!"

Okay. Heh. But seriously.

Something big that can be done with the Mission creator... Hmm... Oh. Big. As in REALLY BIG.

Is the Kronos Titan unlockable? Cause it just doesn't GET much bigger then that in-game.

Your villain hijacks one. (Or several Zeus Titans if the Kronos isn't available) And announces that he's going to unleash it (them) in Atlas Park.

Or... Have them attack the Council Base in Striga Island. The idea is to take over that base, use it's resources to further the villains own further
schemes.

The interesting thing about attacking Striga - it's not the Rogue Isles and it's not Paragon City. The Council have effectively "owned" it up
until now. Is it more advantageous to oppose the villain? Stand aside and let him possibly kick out the Council? Or... if he's the "Honorable"
villain type, do you HELP him?

Kronos Titan is likely unlockable, at least its AV version. GMs aren't likely to be unlockable since they require being in "open" zones due to
being theoretically impossible for a single team of 8 to bring down (Adamastor, Jurrasik, and Kraken notwithstanding)

As for the biggest thing you could do?

Probably take on (and defeat) a member of the Freedom Phalanx. Taking down Miss Liberty is a major part of the Lord Recluse Strike Force(to the point that it
gets the whole damn Phalanx on your ass). Even if the average player doesn't respect Posi or Manticore the Character much, in game, he's as big as any
of the Phalanx, short of Statesman himself.

Alternatively, there's stealing the "specialty arrow" that Sister Psyche got as an anniversary present. Tongue

Heh...heh... I can't find the Kronos Titan as a usable object, sadly, but Atlantea, OpMegs, thank you so very much. You've put me on track for a two-mission combo with resources I do have...for something almost as good. If not better. You're right, GIANT ROBOTS and SIGNATURE CHARACTER BEATDOWN are a good way to go.

Settles three of my missions for this arc, at least.

Villain would probably do what you assume but MY villain would probably... -checks for Lady Nogi and ungerlings a moment-

Step 1: Take out the lesser competition for top billing on red side.

Step 2: Build up an army of disposable underlings.

Step 3: Take out Recluse and his underlings.

Step 4: Bigger army.

Step 5: Blow Paragon off the friken map.

Step 6: Put her muddy shoes up on an antique hardwood desk, have a nice glass of sherry with an expensive cigar in hand.

Step 7: Let villain and hero squabble amongst themselves till they sort out the new balance of power.

Ara... SUCH unnecessary destruction! One might destroy irreplacable artworks with such crass and wanton violence!

In Nogi's estimation the WORST offense Recluse commits in the LRSF is the destruction/Stalinization of the statuary in Paragon. Nogi's a heckuva lot
more subtle than THAT. After all, her creature comforts rely on a relatively peaceful time, with occasional, well-timed bouts of violence to spur the artists
to greater creativity.

But yeah that makes for good drama there with the blowing stuff up vibe.

I think if Flame was really looking to make people go "WTF OMG!!!" or something like that, she'd attack a place with a bunch of kids... I mean,
people love kids, right?

Option 1: take over the National broadcaster and dress up as a purple dinosaur and sing kid tunes...

Option 2: kidnap Ms Liberty/Vindicators/etc and make -them- dress up as purple dinosaurs and sing kiddie tunes on national TV...

Option 3: pipe AT&T hold music over all radio and TV channels...

Option 4: Introduce a little anarchy in swapping the Red/Blue mediport codes... (Red side rez in blue side hospitals and vise versa)

Option 5: .... run.

I think I'll take Options 2, 3, 4, and 5.
