Meeranon or Meeranar?
Meeranon or Meeranar?
#1
Okay, what gives?  They're called both Meeranon and Meeranar (with Meeran being singualar).  Which is right?  Personally Meeranar sounds cooler, I think.  But, that's just me.
And, here's my 4e write-up for the race:
Meeranon [58 points]

Attributes
ST +2 [20]

Advantages
Acute Taste and Smell +3 [6]
Acute Hearing +3 [6]
Combat Reflexes [15]
Damage Resistance 1 (Tough Skin) [3]
Mind Reading (Telecommunication, Psionic) [21]
Telecommunications (Telesend, Psionic) [27]

Disadvantages
Code of Honor (Meeranar) [-10]
Duty (Clan, 9-) [-5]
Overconfidence (12-) [-5]
Impulsiveness (12-) [-10]
Sense of Duty (Home Clan) [-10]
Should they have built-in claws?  I know they didn't, but should they?

One is the plural noun, the other is an adjective. I don't have my linguistics notes handy to check which was which (hey, Rob, did you ever get your PC to read those disks?), but I'm pretty sure I was consistent in my usage in IST. I'll have to wait until I get home to check my copy, though.

I had a slight hardware glitch, and now I'm busy-busy... but I have two weeks vacation at the end of March and nothing to do then, so I'll be trying again then.

Unless we're using Psionic Powers, which I would suggest against for IST, those aren't necessary.

Ditto the "Cheaper Gear" perk. Teeth (Sharp) however is a good catch. I'll have to put that in.

FYI: the discussion of the Meeranon was moved to this thread.

Oh, by the way, there's a sidebar that covers this on p. 37 of IST:  "Meeranon" is the plural/collective noun; "Meeranar" is the adjective.
