Another teaser from far out, mostly to amuse myself
Another teaser from far out, mostly to amuse myself
#1
Seamus studied the man and his belongings for a minute or so more
before coming to a decision. He backed off to the entrance to
the clearing, then called out loudly, "Hullo the house!"

The man sat up straight and opened his eyes. Even from this
distance Seamus could see that they were a bright, startling
blue. "Well, if it isn't himself come to call!" the man said
with a rumbling chuckle; his voice was deep and crisp. He stood
and, smiling broadly, made a "come here" gesture. "Well come,
Seamus Finnigan. I offer you my hospitality and my fire. Here,
sit and speak with me." He waved to the side of him opposite the
cloth and its contents, and another camp chair was suddenly
there.

Seamus started. "Y'know me name?" he blurted, and the man
chuckled again.

"Of course! You've been expected, young Seamus," he said.
"Come, share my fire."

Seamus shrugged to himself and joined the man at his fire. "If
y'don't mind me askin', sir," he said as he settled in, "what may
your name be?"

One auburn eyebrow lifted in surprise. "You've made it all the
way to me fire, and you don't know that? Well, lad, I've had
many names in many times and places, and I don't doubt you'd know
most of them, but with this face and these hands," and here he
held out his hands -- big, strong hands that at the same time
seemed deft and dexterous, "I'm known as Ogma of the trí dée
dána."

"Og-ogma?" Seamus twisted in his seat to stare at him. "*The*
Ogma?"

"Aye," Ogma said with tectonic chuckle. "But we're not here to
talk about me, boyo, but you."

"Me?" Seamus considered the possibility that waking this man had
been a bad idea.

"Aye," Ogma repeated. "And to decide if you're better suited to
bein' a bard or a druid."

So it begins... Oh, sorry, quoting the wrong wizard there.

What?

Well, obviously (with Bob's bumping of this thread) something akin to but not the same as the end of OMB II / DW V is going on here, possibly to everyone in what another timeline called Dumbledore's Army.

"Tell me, brother mine," Fred said a moment after they stepped
into that clearing, "that you are seeing the same thing I am
seeing."

"Well, that depends," George replied. "Are you seeing a distinct
lack of snow and an overabundance of out-of-season plant life,
complete with the smell of flowers and fresh grass?"

"That I am," Fred confirmed.

"Then I am seeing the same thing you are seeing." George
shrugged off his heavy jacket. "And I am feeling a rather
summery temperature, which I suspect you are as well."

"Indeed I am." And Fred slipped off his jacket as well. "I
can't help but wonder who might be behind this amazing piece of
magic."

George stepped to the center of the clearing and slowly turned
about in place. "Forget that. D'you think we might be able to
copy it for a wheeze?"

"You might, at that," a new voice said. Perched on a rock that
had a moment before been unoccupied was a black tomcat. "Hiya,
boys," it said brightly, mouth opening into a very human-looking
smile.

The twins looked at the cat, then at each other, and a pair of
wide grins spread across their faces. "Brilliant!" they said
together. "Who's doing this? And what spell are you using to
make the cat talk?" George added.

"T'ain't a trick, McGee." The cat was gone, replaced by what
looked like a cross between a man and a rabbit, five feet tall
and grey and white in color. The only clothes it wore were,
oddly, a pair of white gloves. It took a bite out of a carrot
which it suddenly held in its left hand. "Let me tell you guys,
I been lookin' for coupla jokers like you."

So Bugs is an iteration of The Trickster... yeah, that makes sense.
Makes me wonder about Daffy, though...

And careful, boys! He may be Coyote, but he's also Loki!

Daffy's a "household god of frustration," obviously.

"Excuse me, are you Hannah?"

Hannah turned about to see a tall woman with long, straight dark
hair, wearing glasses and Muggle clothing. She appeared to be in
her late twenties or maybe early thirties. "Yes, I'm Hannah
Abbott," she said.

The woman held out her hand and Hannah shook it. "I'm Heather
Panquelle. I'm Kat and Alison's sister," she added by way of
explanation. "The middle one."

"I'm pleased to meet you," Hannah said, then tilted her head
quizzically. "Are you one of the Warriors? I don't remember
seeing your picture in the front hall."

"Oh, no," Heather laughed. "I'm just a housewife. I don't run
around wearing kevlar and leather, fighting terrorists and
international criminals. I have more than enough on my hands
taking care of my home and my two treasures. My daughters Ruth
and Grace," she added at Hannah's puzzled look.

Hannah nodded in understanding, then said, "Then you're not a
regular visitor to the Mansion, I'd guess. So what brings you
here today?"

Heather held out her arm. "Come, walk with me, Hannah. I want
to talk to you about a secret of mine -- one that I think you'll
be surprised to learn you share."

Read the excerpt again - you might notice a clue. Or you might not.

"Huh," the kitten said, studying her in the darkness of her room
with faintly glowing eyes.  "It took me a while to find you, but
with the strength of the call you sent out, there was no doubt I
would.  So, here I am!"

"Call?"  Pansy blinked, and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.
"What call?"

Skia sat up straighter, and tilted its head in puzzlement at her.
"The call you sent out a few weeks ago, looking for the power to
protect those you care about, the power to make a difference in
the world?"  It gestured at itself with one paw.  "I'm here with
the answer."

Pansy squeezed her eyes shut, shook her head, and opened them
again.  No, the little animal was still there.  "The answer,"
she said flatly.

"Yup!"  It leaned in toward her.  "And it's *yes*."

Oh, dear. If I point out the clue, I'll come too close to giving away the secret. You'll just have to wait, sorry.

Too short to be Harvey, then.
I'm so excited to see any writing on DW, keep it up!

I'm pretty sure that description mean the entity (Toltir?) is in the form of Bugs Bunny

Grey and white? (The grey part is also evidence of not Harvey) Its only clothing is white gloves? Pulling carrots out of nowhere? Yep, I'd say it's supposed to be Bugsy. The dialogue sounds about right for him, too.

between the 3 teaser threads we got:
Hermoine meeting Sailor MercuryLavender meeting Yang (and I suppose if someone was gonna meet a RWBY character, the one with the colour based name fits)Seamus meeting OgmaThe Twins meeting Toltir(?)/Bugs BunnyHannah Abbot meeting Heather Panquelle (who seems to be a sibling of some of the Warriors)and Pansy meeting a magical mascot/sidekick kitten named Skia.
I'm guessing they were all in Doug's area of effect when he pulled off something big.
Anyone want to make guesses as to who Harry and Ron are meeting?  Or Luna, Longbottom, and Ginny for that matter?

You know, I was joking about Harvey.
My pet theory on this is the the Room of Requirement is making this possible.  "I need to talk to the one person in all the multiverse who will give me the advice I need to get out of this alive."

Dumbledore could meet Weiss, Sirius could meet Blake, and Hagrid could meet Ruby (and they can both meet Rubeus from Sailor Moon).  No shortage of color characters in Harry Potter.
And let's not forget Padma and Parvati Pastel.

....  If freakin' Peach shows up, then shit's so royally screwed.
For those that don't read Young Wizards by Diane Duane, Machu Pichu is a persnickety and grouchy rainbow macaw who's got a thing for reading the future with remarkable accuracy.

However, there's a reason for this:
