I remember the grey days before Satellite and/or cable TV in Waaaaaay northern Vermont. Saturday mornings, I had to watch Canadian TV when I visited my Grandmother. It consisted of The Raccoons (Same episodes, over 10 years) and French-language dubs of Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Adam West's Batman, and the also-ran detective shows made by Hanna Barbera in the 70's.
Now, not speaking French well, this consisted of making up dialogue...

I've never actually seen the show, myself. Ed Becerra recommended the song to me some years ago, so I hear it without any context. And I make my own -- this is, currently, the unofficial theme song of the "Girls, Girls, Girls" project.-- Bob

These are hazy recollections at best, but the show was gentle and the conflicts were more industrial versus conservation...
Main characters included (all anthropomorphic, with exceptions)
*three raccoons, two male, one female. Bland boy-girl couple and excitable friend.
*wise sheepdog (Framing bits had this dog, along with a puppy as "real" while a human father summed up the edutainment moral of the day for his kids)
*Greedy Aardvark-thing businessman, his nice, nebbishy son, Cedric, and his girlfriend
*three incompetent pig henchmen
I forget all of their names except that one.

I think the 'excitable friend' raccoon was named Ralph, and I seem to recall the female raccoon being named Sheila.
