Another tribute to CoH is always welcome.

As Gryph mentioned in the annotations, the traditional CoH Mastermind laser rifle is very much a 'built in a cave with a BOX OF SCRAPS!' kinda laser gun. Fine for a 21st century mad scientist, but the UF version needed to upgrade.

I feel I should note that Omnibus 5 of the ministories is out at http://www.eyrie-productions.com/UF/mo05.html - including (As always for an omnibus) a brand new short, Untempered.

Or perhaps I should add in Per Aspera Ex Umbra, in which we set something else right. http://www.eyrie-productions.com/Forum- ... 4/145.html

(yes, I admit it, we had some discussion about Untempered which drove me to write it.)Brazil has decided you're cute.

Some "fancy" unicode punctuation appears to have snuck into "One Phone Call".

-Morgan. Fancy is short for "annoying"...

Sosuke. Mileva.
I'm running in terror, and I'm still not sure if Mileva is an OC or someone from a media I'm not familiar with.
And I'm only halfway through the story.

I honestly misread the title as "DSM Panic Mission 5: Operation WINFEST" at first.

After actually reading the story, I think my misinterpretation still qualifies as an accurate title.

I am now worried. How can Akio be served by Nanami's actions? Not to mention Federation President William Mysteron Clark. Brr.

With any luck or justice, not nearly as well as he'd like to think it will. I'd also like to note that he just let a number of his current iteration of Rose Rings wander off too. Not like that's ever gone poorly for him in the past.

well, he has Corwin's curse still on him, so "luck or justice" isn't the major player here.... I would like to see Nanami's redemption, though... and it appears as though Anthy may have plans for that....

I'm not through with "Night of the Kissogram" yet, but I had to stop to post (and to try and get my breath back after laughing my freaking ASS OFF) that this is quite possibly THE WACKIEST UF I've seen in quite a long time!
I also have to say -
Quote:"Who dares enter our dressing room unbidden?" he roared, a witchy edge creeping into his stentorian voice. "Know ye, foolish mortals, that ye intrude upon the sanctum of Baron Zoria and his Circle of Horns!"

- I started seriously laughing here, but it wasn't until -

Quote:"First things first," Zoria replied. Turning to his raptly attentive bandsmen, he pointed to one and said in a commanding tone, "Tomaak. You will aid the Vampire Queen."
The robed figure he had addressed knelt and said, "While my loyalty is both eternal and unwavering, I am compelled by my own oaths to survive and serve you to ask: Why me, my Baron?"
"Because you're perfect," the Baron replied without missing a beat.
Tomaak bowed his head. "Understood, my Baron," he said,
That I completely lost my shit and had to hang on to the arm of my chair to keep from falling out I was laughing so hard!!!  ^_^
Quote:They took to the stage - a dozen mystic-robed jazz wizards, the queen of vampires, and an immortal who was reasonably sure this was the wackiest birthday he'd had in at least a century - to find the club, a medium-sized establishment whose front of house was in better repair than the backstage spaces, still crowded and buzzing even at this late hour. The five black-clad hunters didn't escape their notice, scattered around the room and covering all the obvious exits. They were making some of the patrons a bit nervous, but in this setting - unlike out on the street in front of Coffee Kingdom - they seemed less inclined to start outright freaking the mundanes. Maybe someone up their chain of command had given them a bollocking for that phase of the operation.
Whichever, they reacted with visible consternation when their target took the stage along with the Circle of Horns and the man they'd encountered her with at Coffee Kingdom. Without any introduction or comment at all, the band launched into a high-energy instrumental, featuring the vampire on bass guitar and her henchman, a bright red electric slung on his back, working the keys of the club's battered but game old Hammond B3 organ.

/* The Blues Brothers Band"I Can't Turn You Loose"Blues Brothers 2000 (1998) */

So... counting the references... Circle of Horns... er... Thorns, from City of Heroes, a shout out to Buckaroo Banzai in the middle of that, a vampire queen, and now we're getting the funk down in a club with Police closing in Ala The Blues Brothers.

EPIC WIN!

And I'm not even done reading it yet. This is going to be GOOD.
