"Harry Potter" Theme Park
"Harry Potter" Theme Park
#1
I think we may have had a thread on this once before, but in case you didn't know, Universal Studios Orlando is in the process of adding a "Wizarding World" subpark to its "Islands of Adventure" park next to the Orlando Studios.  http://www.reuters.com/article/lifestyl ... S220090915]Reuters has an interesting article on the latest developments and announcements.
ETA:  Okay, they must be going on a publicity blitz, because I just found an email giving me links to more material at the Universal Orlando website.  Like, say, http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypo ... k_uo2.html]this webcast.  Or http://lists.universalorlando.com/t/185 ... 70/1950/0/]this overview.

Hmmmmm... Saturday is Hermonie's birthday, according to Ms. Rowling. I wonder whether they timed this announcement with that in mind...?

(No, probably not.)

Death Eaters or Dementors. Also, I suspect quite a few visitors will be disappointed there's not a ride simulating broomstick flight, perhaps not
realizing a) straddling a swooping broomstick would do a number on your butt, and b) broomsticks don't come with safety
belts. Never underestimate human stupidity.

No, small mono-rail type roller coasters exist - single cars with room for only one or two passengers. I forget what they're called, but
adapting this to a broomstick ride should be relatively easy.

Oh yeah, there were a bunch of photos of her on campus her first day, hanging with what is presumably her RA group, a week or so back.

Nah, go for a modified Robocoaster. (Full disclosure: my company
makes it. Though I STILL cannot figure out why they won't market the flight-simulator version....)

...wait a minute....

Looks like someone beat me to it: "Reports of Robocoaster coming to Harry Potter
Land"
