CDJapan Sales
CDJapan Sales
#1
They must really want our business at CDJapan right now. Not only have they sweetened the coupon offers, they've got some prime merchandise on sale at the moment. (Including http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/goods/goods_de ... EOGDS-5364]this pre-order only figure of Mikuru-san. I know it's a canon pose, but the ero-doujin possibilities are what I first thought of...) But, honestly, the http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/goods/whimsical_sale.html]anime figures and goods sale is a niche interest. (As is their http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/rcms/anime/com ... arket.html]Comicket report, with photos of the 1:1 scale Gundam.)

The important sale is the http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/rcms/music/jap ... ition.html]Japanese Exclusive Edition CD sale - if you've ever been interested in what the Japanese bonus tracks are like, now's the time to find out. And the acts are big names, too - The Who, Deep Purple, The Rolling Stones, John Entwistle, Jeff Beck, Avril Lavigne, Keith Moon, Sheryl Crow, The Yardbirds, Metallica, and many more.

I am so glad I just paid off my credit-card balance...

Actually, I just ordered http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=UPCH-1713]Ghibli Meets Bossa Nova. "Compilation album contains Bossa Nova covers of Ghibli tunes featuring Jazztronik, Asako Toki, Takeshi Nakatsuka, and more."

Not just that one CD, of course - the shipping charges would have been ridiculous. (Not that they aren't ridiculous for a multi-disc order, but it's less than having them shipped individually.)

My complete order - something old, something new; something on sale, something at full price:

UPCH-1713 V.A. / Ghibli Meets Bossa Nova

VTCL-60041 Animation Soundtrack / Macross

KICA-916 Megumi Hayashibara / Slayers Megumix

VICL-15037 SHARON APPLE(music:yoko kanno) / MACROSS PLUS The Cream P U F

UICA-1048 Sheryl Crow / Detours - Japan Tour Edition[SHM-CD+DVD]

UICY-93802 The Rolling Stones / Singles Collection: The London Years [Cardboard Sleeve][Limited Release] [SHM-CD]

TOCP-70595 The J.Geils Band / Freeze Frame [Cardboard Sleeve]

BVCM-37943 Avril Lavigne / Let Go[Limited Low-priced Edition]

SICP-2111 Jeff Beck / Jeff Beck Performing This Week...Live At Ronnie Scott's

TOGP-15024 GENESIS / The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway [Cardboard Sleeve][SACD Hybrid+DVD]

UICY-91068 V.A. / Hard Rock Generation[SHM-CD] [Limited Release]
(http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=UICY-91068]Assorted hard rock from the 1970s and '80s - Rainbow, Black Sabbath, KISS, Motorhead, Def Leppard, and many more)

UICY-91296 V.A. / Have You Ever Been Experienced? SHM-CD Compilation Vol.3: Rock Edition[SHM-CD] [Limited Release]
(http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=UICY-91296]a truly eclectic collection, showing off the quality of the new SHM-CD mastering process by including a SHM-CD and a standard CD with the same tracks. But, hey, any disk that has Tainted Love followed immediately by Breakfast in America is bound to be an interesting listen...)

BVCM-38090 V.A. / Kyonetsu no Electric Guitar
(http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=BVCM-38090]50 tracks of electric guitar goodness - The Astronauts, The Ventures, Duane Eddy, Chet Atkins, The Charades, and some tracks that don't have credits listed on the order page, althoug Les Paul is listed as one of the performers)
