OMFG... you've been writing this and you never dropped a post about it in the New Fic Recs thread?  Doc, you oughta be ashamed of yourself! 

I'm of the opinion that recommending one of your own stories is pretty gauche, unless it is the prequel/sequel to something already recced. That's the one reason I haven't put my own stories up there.

Whelp. It's now official. This might well be the worst 'Evil Dumbledore' characterisation and conclusion I've ever seen. God, I wish I'd dropped that story a hundred chapters ago...

Having finally finished reading it (only starting after Fred put it up in "finished fic recommendations"), I can't say I have quite the same reaction.  From this post I expected the reason behind Dumbledore's behavior to be lead-induced brain damage.  Having it be his end -- meh.  It was a fun if average fic, and suffered mainly from one of my own faults as a writer -- the heroes never got handed a real setback; they were ready for everything and everything went mostly to plan.
