From episode #24. Hey, they've been in space for almost a year - I'd party, too!

Last couple of minutes...

Oh my...

Oh there's NO lesbian subtext there AT ALL. None whatsoever.

Hangeki, for free (Galaga type game)
Posted by: Jorlem - 09-15-2013, 01:38 PM - Forum: General Chatter - No Replies

I was at an indie games show at MIT yesterday, and one of the games being shown was Hangeki, a top down fighter type game.  It was quite fun, very fast paced, and is free for the weekend.  You can download it here.  It requires a Steam-alike piece of software to do the download, but the game itself works just fine if you copy it out of the directory it was downloaded in, and start it via the exe.
Here's their trailer:

Edit:I really hate Yuku's parser.  The video appears in the editor when I paste in the html code in html mode, but just turns into a link when I post it.
Edit 2:Also, it's added in those ""s  after my sentences for some reason.

  FenWiki - any questions?
Posted by: robkelk - 09-15-2013, 03:46 AM - Forum: Fenspace - Replies (17)

I'm looking at the Help page on the wiki, and wondering whether it's complete...
http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Help:Contents

Are there any other questions that should be answered there? I'm too close to it; I've never known what it's like to be a newcomer to the wiki, so I don't know what else might be puzzling folks who've come by in the last year or two.

  Comics....
Posted by: Rod.H - 09-14-2013, 06:34 PM - Forum: General Chatter - No Replies

Or darn those ponies! For they've got me back in the habit of regularly visiting a Comic Book Store.
That and I've picked up the CLZ comics app and I've slowly been going through the boxes and adding what I've in it - comics and TPBs - and have almost hit the five hundred items mark. That's nowhere near the complete total, I think it's 50-75% of what I've got. I mean I've still to touch the Mailbag of Manga's contents.

The app has helped reveal were the holes in my collection are, and I appear to have many. I've apparently almost got a full run of the 1997-2002 Deadpool monthlies I'm apparently just missing #1-8. Which I think I've got somewhere, I know I've got the TPB of them. Cause it don't help that I've got newsstand and diamond direct editions of titles which are giving the database fits.

I've also dropped some dosh on Antarctic Press' website filling a small fraction of the Gold Digger hole and filled a Quagmire, USA one. Also if you've read GD #201, how about the y'know reference.

Apparently, Voyager 1 has left the Solar System.

This time they really mean it. Honest.

My childhood Mecca, the Seaside boardwalk, http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nationa ... -1.1454116]is burning. That story says "six-alarm fire", but it's already at 8 alarms according the news broadcast I was just watching.
Edit:  Here's some http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?secti ... id=9245840]video.  The video implies that Funtown Pier had been rebuilt, but it hadn't; when we were last in Seaside three or so weeks back, it was still closed and littered with debris.  Casino Pier almost a mile to the north has been almost completely rebuilt and was running rides and everything; we were just wondering a couple mornings ago why the difference.

Sometimes I want to punt the guy who writes headlines for The Register.  For a http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/09/11 ... dof_space/]story posted today:

Quote:Sir Bob Geldof to be the first Irishman IN SPAAAAACE:  Tell me why I don't like Moon days
If you don't know why I'm groaning, well, musician Bob Geldof fronted the Boomtown Rats long long ago, and one of their signature hits was a song called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Don't_Like_Mondays]"I Don't Like Mondays", which has the repeated line "tell me why I don't like Mondays".

... and I can't talk about most of it. But I have to vent. What I can say is that we had a health and safety incident at work today. No fatalities, thank the gods. And that's about all I can say. But if I seem distracted or not my usual self for the next few days, this is why - I have this more important matter to attend to.

My apologies in advance if I come off snarky or brusque at any time for the rest of the week.
