Not that I want to nitpick, but wasn't it etablished that the helmet runs on a "drillium" (let's avoid the full name ^_^power cell that should last for years? (even discounting the effects that years of exposure to Doug's field could have had on it?)
Besides, a good soldier reloads whenever possible, because he never knows when he'll have the chance to do so. (Yes, I know the Warriors aren't soldiers, but the principle still holds.)
