Looking For Font... - Bob Schroeck - 06-27-2012 Since I've found myself doing custom title graphics for the most recent Steps, I suppose that with DWS queued up behind DW8 I should start looking around for a good Sailor Moon-inspired font. I've already found one, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any others. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Bob Schroeck - 03-27-2017 Bumping this thread because the release of chapter 1 is actually going to be a thing in the near future. I'll be doing some searching tonight after work, but if anyone already knows of any other fonts reminiscent of either the Japanese or North American title sequences, I'd appreciate a pointer to them. Thanks. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Labster - 03-28-2017 A basic google search got me this from some font otaku with too much time on their hands: http://kinnohitsuji.deviantart.com/art/ ... -343627820 Not a lot of links there, and a lot of these cost a bit of money. But when I think of Sailor Moon, I think of either:
I'd probably avoid serifs, though I do like the understated serifs on this website. I love their design despite the fact that the top menu takes up an entire screen, dammit. Anyway, avoid anything with sharp corners; stick to typefaces that emphasize curves. And use color gradients. -- ∇×V - Bob Schroeck - 03-28-2017 Thanks, Brent! I'll check all those out tonight when I get home from work. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Bob Schroeck - 03-29-2017 I did check that page out, and yeah, some good references. But I did a bit more searching of my own, and found http://the-sweet.deviantart.com/art/Fon ... -378072778]this page, which I found very useful. I'm now toying with a logo along the lines of http://www.giantbomb.com/images/1300-2289623/]this, with "Drunkard's Walk S:" in italic Occidental in the upper left, and "Heart of Steel" in, well, right now I'm looking at Caslon Becker No540 Swash Alt Italic. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
