In all the watching of SF shows I've done, I've never seen this model ship before... Does anyone know what it is, and where it's from? (I have reason to not ask the person who supplied the image.)

It does seem familiar, but that may just be the color choices and two-outrigger design style... It could be Duke Nukem, or some of the pre-Federation Trek designs from before the Enterprise show was created, but that doesn't really seem right. Sorry.

I am pretty sure that it is a slightly bulky version of a Star Trek ship in one of the movies, I think that Kirk killed someone on it right before it blew up, I would have to look at the movie again, (And figure out which one!) but I am pretty sure of it. The Ball thing looks like what held the yellow/golden screen thing that was unleashed when the bad guys were trying to do their world ending bad guy thing.

It's definitely not the ship from Civ 4...

ETA: Also, Sweno, that avatar image of yours drives me nuts - I feel like I should recognise the characters, but the only ones I can think of that even vaguely fit would be Mai and Nao from Mai HiME, and they're not that good a match for them.

It's from a piece I commissioned.

So I wouldn't be surprised if you recognize them, seeing as how they are probably the two toons I'm most likely to be playing when I'm on COH.

Ah, I see. The impression I got from reading the first few posts after that was that it was meant to be a ship that appeared on BSG, not the Galactica itself, so maybe that's it? Or, if there's a BSG computer game that was more-or-less based off the new series to ride its popularity?

Sweno: Nope, I'd never poked my nose in the COH forum since I don't play. Guess it was just a case of mistaken identity. Nice comission, though. And that's enough hijacking trhe thread I'd say...

Actually, now that ye old memory has spooled up, I bet you anything that if you look carefully at old or new BSG, you might find this ship among the entourage.

		Says it's a render...

Say - What if this is something for the Battlestar Galactica GAME?  Wasn't there going to be an MMO of that? Or was there a tactical game where that might show up as one of the fleet ships?

Yes, there is/was one planned... I am willing to believe that this is meant to be part of the rag tag fugative fleet though.
