Amazon, Games Workshop announce Warhammer 40k film deal

Quote:Amazon has reached into the Warp and pulled out an "agreement in principle" with Warhammer maker Games Workshop (GW) that would give it film, television and merchandising rights to the company's sci-fi Warhammer 40,000 franchise.

It also found recently projectless actor Henry Cavill in there, who has signed on to star and executive produce a new series based in the "grimdark" universe.

As if WH40K needed to be marketed out the wazoo...

I think he got let go for being a bit of a dickhead gamer-bro on set.

I suppose he'll fit in on WH40K.

It'll be good if there're no Space Marines. If it's centred on Space Marines, it'll be shit. WH40k is shit when Space Marines are to the front --- it's better when you're dealing with the ordinary human beings of the setting because they're a lot more relatable.

That's what I like about Darktide --- you see 40k from a *normal* perspective rather than weird god-like freak.
