What they couldn't complete the musical in a single movie?
Nope. Not like they hid it, either... they made it clear before the first one came out that they had to split it in two (or edit it down to practically nothing).

Sadly, I still feel like the Fantasticar is going to be the best thing out of that movie. Hopefully there'll be a toy appropriately sized to reshell the extra WFC:Earthrise Arcee I bought for the purpose, but 4-5 inch car toys seem to be really rare for some reason outside of very cartoony made-for-baby stuff in rubbery non-stick plastic.

That really looks like it misses the point of the original story entirely... which seems to be a running theme for Dr. Seuss movie adaptations since the original animated Grinch, honestly.

Not only that, but the main lesson they appear to have learned from the 2003 live-action adaptation was "Don't cast Mike Myers as the Cat".
