Unlimited Networks
Unlimited Networks
#1
(No, this has nothing to do with Fate/Stay Night...)

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... eakthrough]Steve Perlman claims to have broken Shannon's Law limiting the speed at which data that can be transmitted wirelessly. And he has some patents to back up his claim.

I'm curious as to whether this is really unlimited (except by the speed of light, of course), or whether this is "internet unlimited" - limited but you'll never reach the limit in "normal" use.

While this certainly seems like Cool Tech, I'm going to refrain from jumping for joy.

There have been multiple efforts in the past (wimax being the most recent I can remember) where people said they could push huge amounts of data wirelessly, but the real world implementation fell down.

I have a feeling this depends on knowledge that is assumed or not transmitted. And it will fail when nodes join or leave the network, or when interference crops up.

I am the MAC of my packet...?

Silicon my body, and electrons my blood

Hmm, doesn't quite work.

"the code of my hack," or the other way around maybe?

A bit of a mix of Emiya and Archer versions, though it's warped to a degree that makes little difference if I had kept the basis "pure."

I am the backbone of my network.

Silicon my body and electrons my blood.

I have transferred at over 1000bT,

Unknown to lag, Nor known to packet drop.

Withstood all-nighters to restore connectivity, subsisting on pure caffeine.

I have no regrets. This is the only path.

My whole life was...

UNLIMITED NETWORKS!
