In a world borne On The Shoulders Of Titans (all kaiju are true), the return of the true Monarchs cannot be halted by a simple Bombing Raid.

Four years ago, Tokyo burned.
Since then, unexplainable beasts have begun nipping and gnawing at the edges of civilization.

Less than a year ago, Hokkaido was trampled.
Now the Great Powers reckon it is time to eradicate such incontinent freaks of nature.

Humility will be taught to them, using their own blood to brand it, if needed.

Notes:
Bombing Raid was originally posted in New Year's Eve of 2020 as the fourth ever OtSoT standalone story. The version you are about to read has undergone a full rewrite in order to bring it up to my current standards for writing-quality and to make it fit a much more developed version of the anthology's lore.

It's crazy to think that I originally wrote this story in 31/12/2020, six years ago and as one of the very earliest stories in this anthology to boot. Back then I still had a very basic notion of storytelling (you can probably tell, even in this rewrite, how flat the underlying narrative actually is) and my writing in of itself was very simple and straightforward. Even the lore of what is now OtSoT was extremely loose. The setting was just something to slot my random Kaiju fic ideas into, an excuse. But nowadays it actually does feel like its own cohesive timeline and world that stories naturally spring out from, and not the other way around.

All in all, I am still proud of the original version of Bombing Raid. The core of the story, a "showing" of how unprepared even superpowers would be to deal with something like a Kaiju, remains strong, and the gut-punch ending elicited the emotional response I hoped it would. I can only be happy that this rewritten version does those same things, simply in a much more polished manner.
