Dungeon Keeper Ami. It was on the Addventure, and I seem to recall the writer kept going after that died, but can't remember where.

It's on Sufficient Velocity, but hasn't been updated for a year or so.

Hmm. One decent one I can't remember the title of offhand, had Sailor Mercury swept into the Dungeon Keeper universe...as a Keeper. Had some interesting elements of her having to deal with the 'forces of good' in the DK setting, as well a links back to the Sailor Moon setting...including things like Jadeite ending up as her assistant.

Dungen Keeper Ami -- it even got a shout-out in Isekai by Moonlight as something Ami should read while in the Lyrical universe.

There was another, though all I really recall about it was Ami being the MC and the author's note saying it was inspired by DKA but they wanted to do a darker take on the concept, because Evil finds a way.

Okay, here's one I just dug up and reread for the first time in ten or twenty years:  Jim Bader's A Tale of Two Wallets.  Late 1990s-vintage Ranma-centric megacrossover (I identified nearly twenty different works, either as major parts or cameos, and I'm sure there are more that went right past me because I was unfamiliar with them and didn't recognize them).  Worth a look.  Sorta-kinda finished?  The main story seems to conclude properly, but there's an incomplete epilogue/sequel tacked onto the end of it, which is unlikely to ever be finished as I seem to recall that Bader passed away some years ago.

Anyway, you can find it on MediaMiner here, or on Fanfiction.net here (link goes to chapter 2, because chapter 1 is actually a genealogy full of spoilers).

Ah, that brings up some memories.

AToTW was loosely affiliated with a multi-author collective of Ranma fics from the early 2000s known as "The Altered Destinies." One of them--A Scary Thought (once the engagement is made, Genma tries to dump Ranma on the Tendos to raise, and Soun, suspecting his friend of laziness, insists Genma raise one of his daughters in exchange--in this case, Kasumi)--is still ongoing and would probably not count as old school, but most of the rest are either complete or long dead.

That includes A Very Scary Thought (another work by Bader--same premise as A Scary Thought, but with Nabiki instead of Kasumi), Switching Heirs (similar premise, but with Gendo raising Ukyo and Ranma staying with his mother), Most Unlikely of Friends (early meeting and friendship between the Tendo Family and the Chinese Amazons) and others.

I'm kicking myself for forgetting this one.

Sailor Moon: Millennials, one of the last major fics from the early 2000s era where the English SM fandom was centered around the archive/message board "A Sailor Moon Romance," and one of the most ambitious SM fanfics ever, regardless of era--separate elaborate concurrent plotlines for all nine Senshi, Chibi-Usa, various love interests, and both cats, with quality writing and a staggering amount of foreshadowing.

Sadly, both ASMR and the author's own site have been down for over a decade at this point, but the story is still available through the Wayback Machine, and some kind soul has posted a copy to AO3 as well.

The BIG Wish

Sailor Moon anime timeline, after "Stars". Usagi makes a casual wish at exactly the right... or wrong... time for the Silver Crystal to grant it, at least temporarily. Now she's a 16-year-old girl in a 21-year-old woman's body, and eager to take her relationship with Mamoru to the next level. In anyone else's hands, this would be a lemon. In the hands of Lilac Summers, it's a farce... and everybody remains in character for the entire story. Rated PG-13.

Complete in seven chapters.

Reviving this thread with a story I was reminded of today: Elegy for a Golden Youth by Reid Carson, a 1998 Ranma fic. One of the first "Ranma is dead" fics, it's also one of the most successful, casting the events of the manga/anime as an almost mythic period that seems to evaporate from most people's memories after he dies and most of the cast disappears from Nerima after his funeral. The narrator and the changes in his life afterwards just add another level of unworldliness to it all.

I was recently reminded of Tel-Writings' Vorkosigan fanfics.

I was specifically reminded of We All Want to Change the World, sequel to Tide of Stars. While the story itself is mostly about Empress Laisa Vorbara having to rise to the occasion during a crisis where her husband is unavailable but the scenes that steal the story are Aral Vorkosigan being interrogated under a truth serum by terrorists who expect clean-cut answers that fit their narrative.

If the name Vorkosigan means anything to you, you will realize that the answers they give are never that simple.

Things changed for Akane after Jusendo. She finally knows that Ranma loves her, even is he did backpedal later on. She also knows she wants him, but he's so skittish! Almost like the wild horse that he's named for. A chance encounter with a book in the library gives her an idea. Entitled: 'The Taming of the Horse: An Equestrian's Guide' maybe it can be applied to Ranma. Maybe the wild horse can be tamed, just a little...

There is an unfinished sequel titled Centaur.

For Harry Potter, we have The Seventh Horcrux by Melindaleo, a fan take on book seven from before book seven released.

The hunt for the Horcruxes begins. Harry has to decide who to trust as he moves closer to fulfilling his destiny. Will he be able to find and destroy all the Horcruxes? And at what price?
