Gateway to the SM Step
Gateway to the SM Step

This I believe (if Bob had not picked one yet) would be a dandy way to enter the SM step.

The Rainbow Connection

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
and what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
and rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it.
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard
and answered when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it.
Look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing
and what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

All of us under its spell. We know that it's probably magic.

Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors.
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

The line about the "young sailors" almost calls for it.

They've got a 'rainbow' of costume colors too. 8P

It's workable... save that Doug is searching songs that have the word "home" in them. Otherwise, it'd be perfect.

That doesn't mean he won't try new songs for new powers, though.

I picked up a slower song called "Rainbow Connection" while I was in that world's Manhattan. I knew after the first play-through that it would give me a power, but I never expected it to open a portal...

Or something like that. 8)

Surely he'd widen the search from time to time?

Would he try it?

If he get's the idea that rainbows are bridges to other worlds, he might try it. Certainly the Norse legend of the bridge connecting Asgard and
Earth suggests it. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" does suggest that. Though if he tries that song, he'd probably end up in Oz.

So, there is no possibility that Doug could be watching television, catch the beginning of The Muppet Movie, and casually wonder if it would be a useful gate
song?

Okay, okay, I give. It could happen any of those ways.
