Don't forget that members of the GOP (at least as of 2012) were literally saying that Hawaii isn't really America, although it's a great place to hold a party convocation. And it doesn't help that the state is so deep blue that the Hawaii Republican Party is warning its minuscule constituency that they have "hit rock bottom" (their words) and that the national Party has effectively written the state off. Why save the lives of a bunch of people who are only going to vote Democrat anyway, right?
