I can’t swear as to how good this intel is, D.C. We’ve been collecting snippets and tossing the self contradictory ones. I know this report is for more than the archives, though. I’ve heard the whispers. I know some of the Solars want to go down there in person and investigate and see what’s really going on. This has the potential to be a huge boon. But it also could be an unmitigated disaster.



I’m going to keep looking for any other sources of information we just don’t know enough about this.

In a rare instance, this chapter acts as a direct sequel to the movie Gorgo, making it necessary viewing. With the exception of a few details avid readers may catch, assume the entirety of the events of the 1961 movie are canon to the OtSoT timeline.

I really liked Gorgo! But if there's something I must criticize about it, is that I think the writer missed a big chance by not making motherhood an explicit theme of the narrative. This story was my own attempt at "fixing" that.

Another update to Going Native

The closest I've come to a steady update schedule in years. This is a completeable fic

I had Twenty-one people in the warehouse. Twenty-two, including the unconscious teenager on the floor with a trickle of blood seeping from the smashed remains of his nose. They had sixteen minutes to live - give or take.

One man stood facing me with a shovel in his hand, a streak of blood across the blade, ready to spend the last fifteen minutes of his life venting all the terror of the last week turning the one symbol of that terror that remained in reach into human paste.

I kept my blades low. Still in my hand, but not threatening.

He regarded me like a teacher staring down a bold child. His thin skin-and-bone frame, strong cheekbones and tight haircut spoke of someone more suited to long hours in a classroom, than a meth lab.

Twenty others had slowly circled us. The pressure of their presence crushed down on my mind. I knew what could happen when people got desperate, especially a large group of people.

I could take one. Maybe I could take all of them. I also knew where that ended. That cold moment rose up in my soul.

"You know there's a bleedin' phone in the office that somebody has to call every half hour to check in."

The penny hung in mid air a moment.

"If you hadn't bashed the kids brains out, he could of called and bought us time."
