Lynyrd Skynyrd Call Me The Breeze (5:06)Call me the breeze
I keep blowin down the road
Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin down the road
 I aint got me nobody
I dont carry me no load
Aint no change in the weather
 Aint no changes in me
Well there aint no change in the weather
 Aint no changes in me
And I aint hidin from nobody
 Nobodys hidin from me
Oh, thats the way its supposed to be
Well I got that green light baby
I got to keep movin on
Well I got that green light baby
I got to keep movin on
Well I might go out to california
 Might go down to georgia
 I dont know
Well I dig you georgia peaches
Makes me feel right at home
Well now I dig you georgia peaches
Makes me feel right at home
But I dont love me no one woman
So I cant stay in georgia long
Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin down the road
Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin down the road
 I aint got me nobody
I dont carry me no load
 Oooh mr breeze
Power: Turns Doug into a breeze. Allows him to get past any barrier that isn't airtight, sneak through airvents quickly and quietly. Visual perception is replaced by an echolocation sort of sense, Hearing is quite good though. On the downside, he needs to keep track of how long he has left, just because a breaze fits in a certain area dosn't mean his body will if he suddenly reverts.
 ***************************
Lynyrd Skynyrd Dont Ask Me No Questions (3:27)
Well everytime that I come home nobody wants to let me be
It seems that all the friends I got just got to come interrogate me
Well, I appreciate your feelings and I dont want to pass you by
But I dont ask you about your business, dont ask me about mine
Well its true I love the money and I love my brand new car
I like drinkin the best of whiskey and playing in a honky tonk bar
But when I come off the road, well I just got to have my time
cause I got to find a break in this action, else Im gonna lose my mind
 (chorus)
So, dont ask me no questions
And I wont tell you no lies
So, dont ask me about my business
And I wont tell you goodbye
 Thats right
Well, whats your favorite color and do you dig the brothers, is drivin me up a wall
And everytime I think I can sleep, some fool has got to call
Well dont you think that when I come home, I just want a little peace of mind
If you want to talk about the business buddy, youre just wastin time
 (chorus)
I said dont ask no stupid questions and I wont send you away
If you want to talk fishin, well I guess thatll be ok
Power: low grade SEP effect. As long as Doug looks roughly like he belongs there, people will ignore him. Walking around a secret research lab dressed in a labcoat or something resembling the security uniform works, walking around said lab dressed as a clown won't.
Side effect: for the duration of the effect, Doug is a pathological liar.

 Travellin' Man - Bob Seger
Up with the sun, gone with the wind,
She always said I was lazy.
Leavin' my home, leavin' my friends,
Runnin' when things get too crazy.
Out on the road, out 'neath the stars,
Feelin' the breeze, passin' the cars.
Women have come, women have gone,
 Everyone tryin' to cage me.
Some were so sweet, I barely got free,
 Others, they only enraged me.
Sometimes at night, I see their faces,
I feel the traces they left on my soul.
And those are the memories that made me a wealthy soul.

Travelin' man, love when I can,
Turn loose my hand 'cause I'm goin'.
Travelin' man, catch if you can,
But sooner or later I'm goin'.
Travelin' man ... Travelin' man, yes I am.
Sometimes at night, I see their faces,
I feel the traces they left on my soul.
These are the memories that made me a wealthy soul.
These are the memories that made me a wealthy soul.

another possible gate song:Ozzy Osbourne - Mama I'm coming home
Times have changed and times are strange
Here I come, but I ain't the same
 Mama, I'm coming home
Times gone by seem to be
You could have been a better friend to me
 Mama, I'm coming home
You took me in and you drove me out
 Yeah, you had me hypnotized
Lost and found and turned aroound
By the fire in your eyes
You made me cry, you told me lies
But I can't stand to say goodbye
 Mama, I'm coming home
I could be right, I could be wrong
Hurts so bad, it's been so long
 Mama, I'm coming home
Selfish love yeah were both alone
 The ride before the fall
But I'm gonna take this heart of stone
I just got to have it all
 Chorus
I've seen your face a hundred times
 Everyday we've been apart
I don't care about the sunshine, yeah
cause mama, mama, I'm coming home
 I'm coming home
You took me in and you drove me out
 Yeah, you had me hypnotized
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes
 Chorus

		Ozzy Osbourne - Perry Mason Lyrics[O.Osbourne - Z.Wylde - J.Purdell]
 On His Way To Dinner
When It Took Him By Surprise
And With One Pull Of The Trigger
 He Would Vanish Overnight
 Dancing By The Roadside
 Holding On For Dear Life
Then A Gun From Out Of Nowhere
Made A Widow Of His Wife
 I Don't Mind
 Single File Down The Runway
 Feelin' Fine
And I'll See You My Friend
 Over And Over Again
Who Can We Get On The Case?
 We Need Perry Mason
Someone To Put You In Place
 Calling Perry Mason Again, Again
 Riding Painted Horses
Oh The Kids They Love It So
You Can See It On Their Faces
How They Love The Wind To Blow
 Minding My Own Business
 Like My Mama Always Said
But If I Don't Try To Help 'Em
They Could Wind Up On The Front Page
 I Don't Mind
Draw The Line, Then Draw Me An Arrow
 Feelin' Fine
And I'll See You My Friend
 Over And Over Again
Who Can We Get On The Case?
 We Need Perry Mason
Someone To Put You In Place
 Calling Perry Mason Again, Again
 Wake Me When It's Over
 Tell Me It's All Right
 Just Keep On Talking Baby
I've Been Doing This All Night
How Much Did You Give Me
Tell Me It'll Be All Right
Who Can We Get On The Case?
 We Need Perry Mason
Someone To Put You In Place
 Calling Perry Mason Again
 Again Again Again Again
 ---
Power: Creates a simulcrum of Perry Mason that lasts for 5:54 minutes (the length of the song), 1hr (an episode of the series), or 2hrs (TV-movie).

"Walking On Sunshine" by Aly and AJ
I used to think maybe you love me, now baby I'm sure
And I just cant wait till the day, when you knock on my door
Now every time I go for the mail box, gotta hold myself down
'cos I just cant wait till you write me, you're coming around
 [Chorus:]
I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
 And don't it feel good
 And don't it feel good
 All right now yeah! (HEY!)
I used to think maybe you love me, I know that it's true
And I don't wanna spend all of my life just waiting for you
I don't want you back for the weekend, not back for a day
Baby I just want you back and I want you to stay
 [Chorus]
 Walking on sunshine
 Walking on sunshine
I feel the love, I feel the love, I feel the that's really real
I feel the love, I feel the love, I feel the that's really real
 [Chorus till end]
Power: can walk on 'sunshine'. effectively Doug can walk/run on air, and can control whether he gains or loses altitude while doing so. There are however, several limitations.
 a) requires sunlight, meaning outside during the day is generally the only usable times.
 b) Shadow are a bitch, so watch out for passing clouds
 c) thin clouds won't drop him but he will tend to sink towards the ground__________________

"I'm Your Captain" - Grand Funk RailroadEverybody, listen to me,
 And return me, my ship.
Im your captain, Im your captain,
 Although Im feeling mighty sick.
Ive been lost now, days uncounted,
And its months since Ive seen home.
Can you hear me, can you hear me,
 Or am I all alone.
If you return me, to my home port,
I will kiss you mother earth.
Take me back now, take me back now,
To the port of my birth.
Am I in my cabin dreaming, or are you really scheming,
To take my ship away from me?
Youd better think about it, I just cant live without it.
So, please dont take my ship from me.
 Yeah, yeah, yeah ...
I can feel the hand, of a stranger,
And its tightening, around my throat.
Heaven help me, heaven help me,
Take this stranger from my boat.
Im your captain, Im your captain,
 Although Im feeling mighty sick.
 Everybody, listen to me,
 And return me, my ship.
Im your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Im your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Im your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Im your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Im getting closer to my home ...
Im getting closer to my home ...
Im getting closer to my home ...
Im getting closer to my home ...
 Ohhhh ...
Im getting closer to my home ...
Im getting closer to my home ...
Im getting closer to my home ...
Im getting closer to my home ...

 'Sing' - The Carpenters
 Sing, sing a song
 Sing out loud
 Sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
 Sing of happy not sad.
 Sing, sing a song
 Make it simple to last
 Your whole life long
 Don't worry that it's not
 Good enough for anyone
 Else to hear
 Just sing, sing a song.
 Sing, sing a song
 Let the world sing along
Sing of love there could be
Sing for you and for me.
 Sing, sing a song
 Make it simple to last
 Your whole life long
 Don't worry that it's not
 Good enough for anyone
 Else to hear
Power: Causes people in the AoE to sing songs (remember the Buffy ep 'Once more, with Feeling'? 8P )

Just as a note, this is a cover. Doug has the original by Katrina and the Waves in his helmet.
The Perry Mason sim sounds like a cool idea...
Good Grand Funk gate song. I like.
"Sing".... hmm. Fluff, but with a useful effect. Imagine doing that to the villains in the middle of a fight. Especially if they're good at hiding...

Foreigner Double Vision (3:44)Feeling down n dirty, feeling kinda mean
Ive been from one to another extreme
This time I had a good time, aint got time to wait
I wanna stick around till I cant see straight
Fill my eyes with that double vision, no disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, its always new to me
My double vision gets the best of me
Never do more than I really need
My mind is racing, but my bodys in the lead
Tonights the night, Im gonna push it to the limit
I live all of my years in a single minute
Fill my eyes with that double vision, no disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, its always new to me
My double vision always seems to get the best of me - the best of me, yeah
Ooh, double vision, I need my double vision
It takes me out of my head, takin me out of my head
I get my double vision, oh, seeing double double
Oh, I have double vision, yeah, Im getting double vision... (to fade)
Power: for the duration of the song there are 2 Dougs. they each have all his normal abilites and knowledge and can act independantly. When the song ends there's a flash of light and a single Doug is standing at the exact midpoint between the two. Doug doesn't know if the location would be shifted to avoid solid objects and has no intention of testing that circumstance if he can avoid it.
When the song ends, the recombined Doug suffers the combined injuries (if any) of both copies, their combined fatigue, and a hangover. Needless to say, this is not a condition he wants to be in if there are hostiles around.

'The Purple People Eater' - Sheb Wooley
Well I saw the thing comin' out of the sky
It had the one long horn, one big eye
I commenced to shakin' and I said "ooh-eee"
It looks like a purple eater to me
It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
(One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater)
 A one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me (One eye?)
Well he came down to earth and he lit in a tree
I said Mr. Purple People Eater, don't eat me
I heard him say in a voice so gruff
I wouldn't eat you cuz you're so tough
It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
One-eyed, one-horned flyin' purple people eater
One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me (One horn?)
I said Mr. Purple People Eater, what's your line
He said it's eatin' purple people and it sure is fine
But that's not the reason that I came to land
I wanna get a job in a rock and roll band
Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin' purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater
 (We wear short shorts)
 Flyin' purple people eater
 Sure looks strange to me
And then he swung from the tree and he lit on the ground
He started to rock, really rockin' around
It was a crazy ditty with a swingin' tune
Sing a boop boop aboopa lopa lum bam boom
Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin' purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater
 I like short shorts
 Flyin' little people eater
Sure looks strange to me (Purple People?)
And then he went on his way, and then what do ya know
I saw him last night on a TV show
He was blowing it out, a'really knockin' em dead
Playin' rock and roll music through the horn in his head
 (clarinet solo)
Power: create a simulcrum of a Purple People Eater. Not dangerous persay (unless you're colored purple), but I bet it'd make for one hell of a distraction. 8)__________________

'Get Back' - The BeetlesJojo was a man who thought he was a loner
But he knew it wouldn't last.
Jojo left his home in Tucson, Arizona
 For some California grass.
 Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged
 Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
 Get back Jojo. Go home
 Get back, get back.
Back to where you once belonged
 Get back, get back.
Back to where you once belonged.
 Get back Jo.

 But she was another man
All the girls around her say she's got it coming
But she gets it while she can
 Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged
 Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
 Get back Loretta. Go home
 Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged
 Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.

 Wearing her high-heel shoes
 And her low-neck sweater
 Get on home Loretta
 Get back, get back.

Paper Lace - 'The Night Chicago Died'
In the heat of a summer night
In the land of the dollar bill
When the town of Chicago died
And they talk about it still
When a man named Al Capone
Tried to make that town his own
And he called his gang to war
With the forces of the law
 I heard my mama cry
I heard her pray the night Chicago died
Brother what a night it really was
Brother what a fight it really was
 Glory be
 I heard my mama cry
I heard her pray the night Chicago died
Brother what a night the people saw
Brother what a fight the people saw
 Yes indeed
And the sound of the battle rang
Through the streets of the old east side
'Til the last of the hoodlum gang
 Had surrendered up or died
There was shouting in the street
And the sound of running feet
And I asked someone who said
Bout a hundred cops are dead
 I heard my mama cry
I heard her pray the night Chicago died
Brother what a night it really was
Brother what a fight it really was
 Glory be!
 I heard my mama cry
I heard her pray the night Chicago died
Brother what a night the people saw
Brother what a fight the people saw
 Yes indeed
And ther was no sound at all
But the clock upon the wall
Then the door burst open wide
 And my daddy stepped inside
And he kissed my mama's face
And he brushed her tears away
 The night Chicago died
 The night Chicago died
Brother what a night the people saw
Brother what a fight the people saw
 Yes indeed
 The night Chicago died
 The night Chicago died
Brother what a night it really was
Brother what a fight it really was
 Glory be
 The night Chicago died
 The night Chicago died
Brother what a night the people saw
Brother what a fight the people saw
 Yes indeed
Power: creates Simulcrums of a) 6 cops, b) 6 gangsters, or c) a half dozen of each. They last until they are 'slain', dawn, or Doug dismisses them. The simulcrums are armed with a variety of pistols, shotguns and tommyguns.
The drawback to this song is that the cops are extreamly hostile towards the gangsters and vice versa. If there's no obvious target/enemy for them to fight, they'll start attacking each other. If only 1 team is summoned (or if the opposing team has been eliminated), this aggression is turned on bystanders that are similar to the hated group.
The cops are apt to open up on streetgangs, pirates, rebels, bikers or any other group that tends to oppose authority. The gangsters consider police, security guards, and soldiers to be valid targets.
Depending on who Doug has for allies, and what kind of non-combatants are around, this song's effects can be more trouble then they are worth__________________

I'd say "Get Back" is a gate song, but it takes Doug back one Step in the Walk.(For example, playing "Get Back" in Kodacha-Tokyo would send him back to BGC-Tokyo, and he'd have to play "The Way" again to return to Kodacha-Tokyo.)
Handy if Doug's forgotten something in the last world back, but otherwise not really useful...

		Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jr.Ghostbusters!
If there's something strange in your neighborhood
 Who you gonna call?
 Ghostbusters!
If there's something weird and it don't look good
 Who you gonna call?
 Ghostbusters!
I ain't afraid of no ghost
I ain't afraid of no ghost
If you're seeing things running through your head
 Who can you call?
 Ghostbusters!
An invisible man sleeping in your bed
 Oh, who you gonna call?
 Ghostbusters!
I ain't afraid of no ghost
I ain't afraid of no ghost
 Who you gonna call?
 Ghostbusters!
If you're all alone, pick up the phone
 And call
 Ghostbusters!
I ain't afraid of no ghost
I hear it likes the girls
I ain't afraid of no ghost
 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
 Who you gonna call?
 Ghostbusters!
If you've had a dose of a freaky ghost
 You'd better call
 Ghostbusters!
 Let me tell you something
 Bustin' makes me feel good
I ain't afraid of no ghost
I ain't afraid of no ghost
Don't get caught alone, oh no
 Ghostbusters!
When it comes through your door
Unless you just want some more
 I think you better call
 Ghostbusters!
 Ow!
 Who you gonna call
 Ghostbusters!
 {Repeat to fade}
POWER: Doug (and up to 3 others) get a Protonpack, ghost traps and a silver jumpsuit. The proton pack can hold a ghost and tends to scorch or damage solid objects (though living targets tend to only suffer slapstick damage). full ghosttraps remain after the song ends, the rest fades out.

 Deep Purple 'Woman From Tokyo'
 Fly into the rising sun,
 Faces, smiling everyone
Yeah, she is a whole new tradition
I feel it in my heart
 My woman from tokyo
 She makes me see
 My woman from tokyo
 Shes so good to me
Talk about her like a queen
 Dancing in a eastern dream
Yeah, she makes me feel like a river
 That carries me away
 My woman from tokyo
 She makes me see
 My woman from tokyo
 Shes so good to me
But Im at home and I just dont belong ...
So far away from the garden we love
She is what moves in the soul of a dove
Soon I shall see just how black was my night
When were alone in her city of light
 Rising from the neon gloom
 Shining like a crazy moon
Yeah, she turns me on like a fire
 I get high
 My woman from tokyo
 She makes me see
 My woman from tokyo
 Shes so good to me

Lionel Richie All Night Long (4:19)Well, my friends, the time has come
To raise the roof and have some fun
Throw away the work to be done
 Let the music play on
 (play on, play on)
 Everbody sing, everybody dance
 Lose yourself in wild romance
 Were going to party
 Karamu, fiesta, forever
 Come on and sing along!
 Were going to party
 Karamu, fiesta, forever
 Come onand sing along!
 Were going to party
 Karamu, fiesta, forever
 Come on and sing along!
 All night long! (all night)
 All night long! (all night)
 All night long! (all night)
People dancing all in the street
See the rhythm all in their feet
Life is good wild and sweet
 Let the music play on
 (play on, play on)
 Feel it in your heart
And feel it in your soul
 Let the music take control
 Were going to party
 Liming, fiesta, forever
Come on and sing my song!
 All night long! (all night)
 All night long! (all night)
 All night long! (all night)
 All night long! (all night)
 Yeah, once you get started
 You cant sit down
 Come join the fun
 Its a merry go round
 Everyones dancing
 Their troubles away
 Come join our party
 See how we play!
 Oh, yes
Were going to have a party!
 All night long! (all night)
 All night long! (all night)
 All night long! (all night)
 All night long!
 Everyone you meet
 Theyre jamming in the street
 All night long1
Yeah, I said, everyone you meet
 Theyre jamming in the street
 All night long!
Yeah, I said, everyone you meet
 Theyre jamming in the street
 All night long!
 Feel good! feel good!
Power: Like 'I play for you', this song affects other songs. In this case, it extends the second song's effects for the rest of the night or until cancelled, whichever comes first.__________________

 My woman from tokyo
 She makes me see
 My woman from tokyo
 Shes so good to me

Power: Simulcrum of _______ (a woman Doug met in a version of Tokyo durring the Walk).

With that particular refrain, there's only one woman from Tokyo that Doug's subconscious would lock onto for this song:
Lisa Vanette.

Actually, I've long thought of it as a banishing song for summoned creatures, but a "backstep" song would be very useful... Quote:Paper Lace - 'The Night Chicago Died'

Mm. The idea of a simulacrum gangwar is nicely twisted and more interesting than just calling up one side or the other. But I can see the use of all three effects. Might be something to use if I ever write something in the Dresden Files universe... Quote:Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jr.

A straightforward enough power. Quote:Deep Purple 'Woman From Tokyo'

Now that would be interesting... Quote:Lionel Richie All Night Long (4:19)

Oh, cool, another metasong. I can go for that effect, definitely! Quote:With that particular refrain, there's only one woman from Tokyo that Doug's subconscious would lock onto for this song:
 Lisa Vanette.

Well, so far.
