blackaeronaut Wrote:Hrm... Alicia Testarossa, Chaos Walker in service to Raven... How's that swing you folks?I'd have to see the concept in action before I could judge it. There's not too much to go on from Alicia's personality, besides being a sweet little girl who loves her mommy.
Quote:Weaponry! Got some ideas there. The question becomes "Where do you want the story to end?" I'm thinking that there's enough going on that you don't need a superbly complicated power set for Zeke, merely an effective one. Of course, succumbing for "feature-itis" and dealing with the result could be a worth-while character growth opportunity. He himself said it earlier: You work is done when there is nothing left to take away. Being human, he'll forget this if/when he gets consumed by an idea, and tries his damnedest to get it to work, ignoring a whole bunch of little signs that he's going about it the wrong way. Pure determination gets his project functional, but the drawbacks bite him in the ass eventually.
For one thing, I think I could
see Zeke having something to do with Nanoha's CW-AEC02X Strike Cannon
(as discussed here in General).
After all, I'm thinking of outfitting him with something like it, only
instead of a Belkan cartridge system, it would be directly powered by an
emotionally dampened Jewel Seed. At least, that's the prototype, and
by then he's got a workshop funded by MITHRIL to work out of. they just
love those nifty little toys he's been cooking up like Mage-tech EMP
Grenades, and Caster Rifles. *Grins in the direction of Gene Starwind.*
That'd be my take on using a Jewel Seed as a power source.
Quote:Also,I've seen the series you're talking about. You may wanna massage that idea into an Arm Slave/mecha, rather than something personal. It seems a little too unwieldly as something personal. But that may be just my bias towards Giant Robots showing ^^;
been thinking about the whole sword thing. Yeah, I've seen you guys
giving me expectant looks, so I might as well cave.
Zeke's going
to have four armor sets that's inspired by Zoids (forget which series -
main character had a mysterious White Liger that got outfitted with an
awesome modular armor system early on).
Basic is going to be just
that - a good all-round set of armor and weaponry.
Jeager is his
high-mobility platform - light-weight with speed boosters, relying on
one swift strike to fell an opponent.
Schneider is a melee platform.
Walking Lawnmowers comes to mind.
Panzer - slow, heavy armor,
BFGs, and a mild tendency to overheat.
Weaknesses can be
similar. In order to change, Zeke will have get to the mobile unit
that's toting the goods, and the change-out takes a moment. This is
good because, like in the anime, he could be isolated from the battle
tender and be stuck with an entirely ill-suited armor.
Inspiration
for 'blade' weapons for Zeke is going to come when he meets a certain
group of aliens and he has an up close look at a certain sword. Of
course, anything Zeke makes won't stand up to the Tenchi-ken unless he's
in all-out God mode. (In which case everything else pretty much just
becomes a moot point - Raven calls any weaponry 'added flavor' at this
point.)
