Essentially, he's a gunnery specialist capable of artillary assaults, danger-close missions (friendlies right in the middle of the action), and anything else a sniper is well suited for. It's all because of his ID - which winds up being the arch-type for Nanoha and Vita's Strike Cannons.
If he can manage to touch Quattro at all. IS: Silver Curtain makes it rather hard to hit her, unless it is by surprise, or with a wide area bombardment attack.
And since he is a gunnery specialist, I'm thinking he probably has a better, faster Wide Area Search spell than Nanoha does, especially if he's figured out a way to multi-thread.

Jail doesn't really count on him showing up at all, so he only equips the Numbers with the usual anti-intrusion protocols. And since I imagine that an effective measure against Matt's IS would be something to do with the hardware itself... well, sucks to be them, don't it?
As a side note, would it work on the Numbers? His IS was designed by Jail, and he went rogue presumably before the Numbers were built, so I can't see why Jail wouldn't include some sort of firewall or something when he designs the Numbers. Of course, Ginga and Subaru wouldn't have this defense...
In fact, to make it tie in we can say that the anomolly was something that Scaglietti did to get rid of an unwanted variable. This could be where Matt discovers the identidy of his tormentor and vows his vengence.

Also, would he need to remain in physical contact with whatever he is controlling to avoid loosing control?
Quote:Star Ranger4 wrote:Yup! That's exactly the idea! The only way he would be able to retain control otherwise would be if he completely rewrote the security subroutines to recognize him as the sole user and permit a 'wireless' access. However, he wouldn't be able to do that until after the JS Incident, and even then only on simpler security systems. For example, if he were around for MSLGN-A's he might have been able to disable the Book of Darkness's security mechanism, but it would have taken a huge effort on his part, and the victory would only have been very temporary. And that's not even getting into the fact that the security mechanism was a regenerating one that Reinforce was not able to get rid of, even after Hyate took full administrative control.
I would say he would. Makes a nice limitation
