Possibly Not New to people here, but I don't remember seeing it recommended: SG1-Compromised
A very thoughtful non-pairing (so far) AU - and I'm up to chap 32 - treatment of an interesting premise, which I haven't seen treated well in SG1 fics before.
What if Sam had - grudgingly - agreed to help Jolinar escape the Ashrak?
It's slow - the author isn't rushing and in my opinion is going to a lot of trouble to keep the characters balanced and the ripple effects logical. Sam isn't suddenly super genius, nor Jolinar promoting Tor'kra and Tauri conqering the galaxy together. And the Tauri are not suddenly showing everyone else 'how it should be done'. Nether is it a boring reprise of the original show. Some of the twists are very well done... and since I don't wish to spoil them, it makes writing this rec difficult...
I'm enjoying the author's balance of focus between previously minor or supporting characters and the main cast.
Oh and one for the ROFTL files: The Planet of carnivorous trees!
55 very well written chapters so far - no jump me over the head and hit me with a comma grammar mistakes - and updated this month, so it's live.
