It's your story, and only you know where you want it to end up. For that matter, only you know Garrick's next stop on his travels (unless it's Macross, which for some reason I don't think is likely).
You've already set things up so that Washuu-chan can (try to) track Garrick through his travels, possibly communicate with him, and possibly pull him back if necessary. Thus, there's an information conduit that you can use to pass necessary information to Garrick if necessary - assuming Washuu can find the data, which likely doesn't always apply to situations in other universes.
So, what would make for the better story? Should he stay or should he go? Is there any benefit to the plot for one over the other?
