RIP Richard Kielhttp://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/movi ... es-n200621
(The article doesn't mention his recurring role as Loveless' assistant on Wild Wild West...)
If you watch "Happy Gilmore," you can see that Kiel was suffering from hip and back problems, which is reportedly common with people who have gigantism (and tall people in general, if my knees and hip are any indication). Even Robert Maillet (the giant from "Sherlock Holmes") and Dalip Singh (from "Get Smart") clearly have problems, and they're relatively young men. The fact that Kiel lived as long as he did, and was still working and still, from what I've heard, a genuinely nice man, is a testament both to medical science and the strength of his character.
