First off, Rome II? There's your first problem... though I hear they've fixed a lot.
Second, buying physical PC games, unless they come with sufficiently awesome feelies, is a bit of a misstep these days. You're going to have an account with *somebody*- Steam, Origin, or the like- to deal with.
Third, I have Rome II on Steam. The install/startup process went smoothly from Day 1... though, sadly, the game turned out to not be worth the money at the time. Here's hoping that it's worth playing, next time I have the time to sit down and check.
