Ok. Just a theory.
A lot of Bio-metric Security locks need at least a thumbprint. With an agency that has an acronym that looks like a pronunciation of a scream, you would also need an eye for retinal Identification.
Check to see if an Eye is missing or detached, and replaced.
Ultra sharp wire weapons are usually built with hand grips, and rewinding Spools. But that doesn't cover lack of blood splatter.
Missing parts of bodies may turn up elsewhere, probably along with a lot of missing blood.
Best guess, a Wormhole type portal, or Micro Black Hole Generator. Both of which would provide an Unregistered point source for radiation of some sort. MBHG would dispose of missing body parts.
