A question: How "mature" are we aiming for with this story?
At one extreme, we have G (where dark-and-edgy stories are off limits altogether). At the other extreme, we have either NC-17 (where dark-and-edgy stories are pretty much required), X (which is a different kind of "mature"), or both at the same time.
