You are a new student at the T'reo School of Martial Magic – but your first semester may be your last. The choices you make will determine your fate! You will have to choose among three mentors . . . the learned and idealistic Aronnen, the combative pirate-mage Coral, and the ruthless and power-hungry Shadrach. You'll deal (briefly) with the demands of academia. More important to your future as a battle mage, you'll build your reputation with words and deeds. You will face scheming faculty, monsters both real and created, and – perhaps the deadliest of all – your own classmates.
You can play solo, or one player can take the part of the student wizard while another plays the monsters and other foes. You'll face arena battles that put your grades at risk, and as the game goes on, your life may be on the line as well. And the other students will be watching you. Attract the cream of the crop as friends or romantic partners, and avoid being labeled a loser, troublemaker, cheat, or, worst of all – a coward.
Path of Mastery is a 32-page adventure, illustrated by Rick Hershey, with over 330 paragraphs. Assuming you survive your collegiate career (not a certainty!), you can take a new, fledgling mage through the scenario, study under another mentor, or choose different extracurriculars – and relive the adventure anew. Will you live to graduate with distinction . . . or die trying? The choices – and story – are yours!
