Yep, it was Kannazuki no Miko, including mecha but apparently not tacking on the "amnesiac hero" cliche to Bland Audience Avatar Pretty-Boy Male Lead as well, just "hero who has to constantly resist mind control." Very Gundam-styled mecha, which probably explains why I remember little of them since I dislike that design style when compared with Macross or Transformers (G1). The animation also has a tendency to be more of a slide show at lot of the time, which is another strong negative point even if the still elements they're using for it are generally decently well done. Very fanservice-y though; this is a show that knows its target demographic is boys aged thirteen to fifteen and panders to them with yuri fanservice, explosions, and chuunibyo edge without the slightest bit of subtlety or shame.
