I will tell you, you are wrong.

Veterans should not have to fight harder for the benefits that are rightly theirs than they did in war.

But if the government will not give them those benefits without a fight, veterans will fight that hard, and the government had better yield long before that point.

And there's historical precedent for fighting – the Bonus Army nearly a century ago was the first such fight that came to my mind.
