She's got a hate on for that poor Shinji kid, seems like.  Halloween and Christmas (and a few other times, I hear), the moment she noticed him having any kind of fun or being the least bit happy, she had to roar over to him and ruin his day.

Oh, no, it's not like that at all.  If you watch "Evangelion" it's pretty clear she has a thing for him, only she's so wrapped up in her ego and insecurity she's got no way to express it other than trying to drag him away from any other girl who looks like she's interested in him.

It's kind of sad, when you think about it.

Good riddance.

Rhiannon was taking pictures during the fight, and she's started putting them on our server here.  I'm too tired right now to sort through and find the best ones, so here are the first few just so we can keep our hand in:

First, Ree got a picture of that one girl from New Jersey going nuts chasing after snowballs right at the start.  Someone said she's actually a robot, which is all kinds of cool if you ask me.



Johnny did his part by just running past and sending up a wall of snow to hide us from everyone else.  And before anyone else asks, no, we're not putting him in a red suit with a lightning bolt on it any time soon.



I'm sure everyone remembers Jane and her baby from Christmas.  I'll bet no one is surprised that she stayed on the sidelines today:



Frank Superman -- I think this was right before he and Accelerator got into that ... not-quite-a-fight.



Shampoo (is that really her name?) from Nova Scotia saw Ree taking pictures and dropped everything to pose for her:

It's just after 10 PM here in Coquitlam, and I think I'm the only one who hasn't crashed yet. (Other than Washuu-chan, of course.)  Garnett and Grandpa were taking pictures today, but if they've put them someplace I can get at them, they didn't tell me.  So I'm just going to post a few that Mrs. Wikstrom took.

First, Sasami, who told me she'd never been in a snowball fight before:

Ryoko, one of the few times she was actually standing on the ground.  That's my hand there on the left, for anyone who wanted to see me in one of these photos.

Sorry we couldn't be there, but it was the middle of the night for us and we were asleep. It looks like you had fun! Well, it looks like most of you had fun. Maybe next time Nancy, Michelle, Maggie, Anita, Junior, Nenene, and I can come and play, or you could come to Tokyo.

Most of our day watch was asleep, too, but with a couple of volunteers to take over for us, those of us on the night watch were allowed to take part -- and like I said a couple dozen messages or so back, we had an assignment, so it wasn't all play for us.

I didn't take many photos -- read "almost none" -- of our people, but I did get one great shot of Sagara that is *so* very *him*:



Kurz is standing over my shoulder right now and insisting that this photo should be entitled "I Do Not Understand This Mission".  If he weren't still banned from this thread for another three and a half weeks I'd tell him to do it himself, but as it is he won't leave me alone until I add it here.  Satisfied now, Kurz?  Good.  Now go sit down.

Talking about our mission again, here's an ally ability I think we'd like to know more about.  Anything you'd care to share with us, Madame Kě Lún?

It's actually something like "Shanpu" or maybe "Xian Pu"?  But if you're some dumb jock martial artist who's too busy running to pay attention to pronunciation, you might end up saying "Shampoo".  And then everyone else copies you...

Observant readers will have noticed some characters mentioned here who haven't previously appeared in an "origin story" for the setting. In the case of the characters from the Read or Die 'verse, we might not write an introductory story for them at all. They aren't the first, they aren't bringing in setting-changing technology, they aren't going to be Patient Zero for a plague if they aren't quarantined... they're just there, with stories of their own taking place in a part of our shared world that we haven't looked at. Yet.

At least now we've revealed that there are at least one group of displacees in Japan, which (along with the crew of the Black Lagoon who appeared in one of our earlier stories) doubles the number of groups in Asia that we've shown to you. We still don't know who - if anyone - has shown up in Africa or South America.

Regarding Ruby's comment that Remnant doesn't have pizza: Yes, we know that a pizza appears in one illustration from the Great Food Fight in the RWBY manga. The manga is sufficiently divergent from the original show that we consider it a completely different timeline -- one that ''didn't'' have any displacees sent to Refuge.
