You sound Australian, Velvet?  But Remnant doesn't have an Australia?  That's a bit bonkers.  I'm Aussie and I'm keen to have a chat to see if we can suss out what’s going on.

Thank you, Tomo.  <rolls eyes>

So... compiling all the suggestions, that means the categories are:
  • Cutest combatants
  • Most egregiously stretched-out combat
  • Best single attack
  • Biggest snowball
  • Sheer Volume Award
  • Thank You For Not Turning Green Award
  • Most egregious use of a superpower
  • Most improved between the start and the end of the Snowball War
  • Most impressive defence
  • Most creative use of a kitchen tool
  • *Still* didn't get wet
  • Best improvised attack
  • Unluckiest combatant
  • Most creative use of the medium
  • and, finally, Who you'd most want on your team the next time we do this?
(No, Yang, we're not using your suggestion. Not after Skuld censored it that badly.  And if she hadn't, I would have.  It was disgusting.)

Now that we've worked out the categories (and annoyed Tina again), get your votes in by email to the address that Washuu-chan set up for us.

Oh, and we need ideas for what the award will look like. Nora was insisting on a Golden Snowball until Kris told her how to make yellow snow.

Yeah, I'm annoyed! But this time I'm doing something about it.

I didn't get very many good photos – I'm more a wildlife photographer than a portrait photographer – but I like this one that I took of Mahoro Ando from Windsor. I didn't know she even had a winter combat outfit.

@Yang Xiao Long, I wanted to say this in public: Thank you for taking Ami seriously as an opponent, even if it was only a game. Some of you heard the rumours about how she had her emotions controlled. Most people didn't hear how she didn't take it well when she found out. You gave Ami her self-confidence back in a way none of us could have.

Oh, and next time, *I'm* your opponent. Fire versus fire!

What's not to take seriously?  Ami's a badass.  And a sweetheart.  But I'm glad I helped.

Shampoo (珊璞, Shanpu, mean "uncut coral", but no "Xian Pu", that stupid fan thing, mean nothing) understand and is no offended, Airen.  And used to it now.  Shampoo also clever enough appreciate puns come from mangle Chinese.  But that just Great-grandmother and stupid Mù Sī -- no believe fanfiction writers who say every person in Nyucheizu have silly grooming product name!  (Although one elder *did* marry outsider plumber who gave entire village running water long ago -- that fanfic too-too crazy coincidence.)

EDIT:  Also, please no use 山脯 for Shanpu.  Yes, Shampoo have impressive bust.  No, Shampoo *not* named "Big Tits".

All right now, now that we're done with picking awards and all that, and before we get any further sidetracked by discussion of translations and all, is it time to go back to posting pics before Tina complains again?

I'll let you have one photo for free. Mousse (Mù Sī? No, you just said we shouldn't get sidetracked by that) heard about lacrosse and adapted it to snowball throwing. Although I think that's more like a handheld trebuchet than a lacrosse stick, but he made it from a short staff and a soup ladle, so what do you expect?

That's uncut like an uncut gem, unfaceted, right?  Mom has a bunch of faceted coral necklaces in her store.

I think I'd better do something to help keep Tina happy.  <smile>  So let me just turn the tables on my best friend and post a photo of *her* for once!  Here's Tomoyo, who had no idea I took a picture of her while she was taking pictures.  (The zoom feature on my cell phone helped a whole lot there!)

Oh my... Sakura-chan, you've reversed our usual roles!

I never expected to see myself from your point of view. I must admit, it feels a little strange -- I'm so used to being the one behind the camera, recording everyone else's precious moments. To think you caught me in the middle of photographing someone other than you... fufufu, how uncharacteristic of me.

Seeing this photo reminds me that memories aren't just made by the subjects we treasure, but also by the people who care enough to notice us.

I suppose I should share those moments which took my attention away from you -- starting with Mister Archer from Montreal.  (You cannot guess how glad I am that you weren't the target of his "Unlimited Snowball Works".)

Miss Rin Suzunoki from Okeechobee very kindly spared a moment from the fight to let me take her photograph.

Miss Suzunoki's very good friend Miss Onsa Amano, also from Okeechobee, who was playfully teasing her a moment before I took this shot.  Then they started roughhousing in the snow.

Young Miss Wednesday Addams, from San Francisco, who I think is almost -- almost but not quite -- as adorable as Sakura-chan.  If only she'd smile more!

[Image: 400px-A_Snowy_Wednesday_in_Minnesota.jpg]

Here are two of the Undines from our residence in Venice Beach -- Miss Alice Carroll and Miss Aika Grantchester, who didn't see me taking their picture:

And two more who did, Miss Akari Mizunashi and Miss Alicia Florence.  (As I understand it, Miss Akira and Miss Athena chose to stay behind and keep their gondola business open.)

And finally, much like Sakura-chan I took a photo of a photographer -- but Miss Tina Foster spied me as I did:

And yes, my hands were cold, but I cannot operate my camera well with gloves.  The sacrifices we must make for our art...

Wait, wait, wait.  I'm confused.  *How* many people were on the field taking pictures?  Mrs. Wikstrom, of course, but also Tomoyo, Sakura, Tina, Mio, Minami, Melissa, Subie-chan... who else?

I still don't quite understand how it is that I ended up in charge of this whole process, but it apparently falls to me now to remind people that there are less than eight hours left in which to vote on the awards for the snowball war.  Submit your votes by 8 AM UTC, which for some unfathomable reason is the middle of the night for most of us who took part.  So basically your last chance to vote is right before you go to bed -- unless you're plagued by insomnia, in which case you have a few more hours.

In any case, get your votes in now or they won't be counted.

(Fortunately *I* don't have to count them -- Washuu-chan's systems will tally everything up automatically, thankfully.)
