Okay, here's a particularly heartbreaking one that I just discovered in the last week: Memories of Iron by "becuzitswrong", a Worm/Marvel crossover where an unidentified cosmic being stuffs the memories and genius of a dying Tony Stark from a doomed Marvel Earth into Taylor's head. I can't call it a fun romp because it is deadly serious, but it is absolutely engrossing -- I found myself staying up to the wee hours of the morning a couple times this week to keep reading. He got to the end of what he declared was the first arc in the greater story, 36 large chapters concluding with the defeat of Leviathan -- then died of a heart attack while mowing his lawn.
