Coming back here and thinking about what I’ve actually written, and much to my dismay I haven’t updated anything of huge significance that the skews-older audience here would care about. What the hell, though: My cowritten Crisis-Edgerunners fanfic has completed its first arc.
I’m not proud of everything we’ve done with it, but I think we’ve done a lot of really good work here. I’ve been in the periphery of the Edgerunners fanfic community for years, as it spun up and wound down, and much of the work done here, all the night-city-but-not-as-you-know-it alternate-location worldbuilding and such, finally feels like it’s taking shape, like it makes sense, like it provides enough of an alternate POV through Gloria and Sylia, who aren’t really Badass Mercenary Edgerunners in spirit the way most Cyberpunk characters are, to have some real bite. Also I think we’re gonna go in an insanely cool direction with Lucy in this AU. Yorinobu Arasaka, too. Maybe not cool but at least likeable? I’ve got this whole meme-y idea of a Big Lebowski spoof in my head where he’s introduced.
I’ve also transcribed some older, lost-er fanfics from the 90s to my AO3 page with full credit, most notably Mike Breen’s Highlander crossover Death and Life. 30-some years out the fic is still really good.
I wish I had more to say, but things this forum might find interesting are all not really my doing, so I’ll try to find a separate place to post all that.
