I have to agree -- I think it's far more likely that J. Random Bypasser is likely to think "Oh, there must be one of those conventions in town" or "some crazy show or movie is filming nearby".  And that's even before you factor in whatever Malleable Causality might do to fit them in (like how no one in Lake Wobegon pays much attention to the faunus).  Of course, this opens up just as many story opportunities...

"Malleable Causality"?  Dunno that term.

That's a little something we came up with that makes it easier for new displacees to fit in. When they first arrive, causality is altered just enough so that the newcomers don't stick out like a sore thumb. This won't hide a fifty-foot woman, but it will hide green hair on somebody who's otherwise human - "obviously" she dyed her hair. Wings and halos won't be as odd in Refuge as they would be in the world outside our windows.
