Fic Update Thread 63: The Lack of Clever Subtitle

[Mamorien]

Two holdovers from yesterday.

First, in a universe borne On The Shoulders Of Titans, we learn why so few of the Monsters of the Cosmos have made their way to Earth: because of the One Who could boast, I Bring The Cosmos To Its Knees.

Gathered upon a moon of scorched steel, the mightiest forces across the known galaxy have joined to finally put an end to the one foe common to all intelligent life.

So, we have arrived to the ending of this story...
I will leave my full thoughts at the bottom, but the short and sweet of it is that I loved working on it!

So... Yeah... I hope that was a fun finale.

I don't think I remember when/how I came up with the idea of "SpaceGodzilla as the answer to the Fermi Paradox" but I do remember it being reinforced by learning about the "Dark Forest Hypothesis" from Liu Cixin's Three-Body Triology. It just felt natural. If my version of Godzilla is this impossibly ancient protector of a planetary balance, why wouldn't SpaceGodzilla take on a more sinister role for his own "domain."

I am aware this story doesn't explain everything. It leaves a lot of SG's own views and origins pretty vague. That is in purpose. While this story will be the only one focused on him, he will be relevant in stories I plan on getting around to writing some day.

I don't specially like Sci-Fi, which may surprise some of you. But I certainly don't dislike it either, I had a lot of fun exploring all these concepts of from space operas, space horros and the more broad genre. All in all, I am quite proud of this work and can only hope you dear readers also had fun with it. I couple have made a lot more Kaiju space-related. But my goal has always been to flesh out this setting's alternative earth first and her solar system second. So if there's some space-Kaiju you were hoping to see, do not worry, you will...

PLUS! Letters to the Lantern (HP/DC): Ghosts in the Books in the Machines.

Justin Finch-Fletchley (only Hermione gets to call him the modern-day Scarlet Pimpernel, so don’t think of trying) has problems concerning his possibly possessed computers. Computers possessed by text scanned from magical books, which are in turn ordering more books, which he can’t afford. So he writes to his fellow colourfully named schoolmate for help.

A sequel of sorts to Lawyers in League, which features Justin’s first appearance in this setting. You should probably give it a read first. Just saying.
