The Last Hibiscus of Summer

So, some of you might know or remember that we have a trio of hibiscus plants in our backyard. They're perennials, and every year they grow stalks that get taller than me and put forth blossoms the size of dinner plates. They start blooming in late June, and keep it up until the end of September, when their leaves drop and the stalks turn dry and brown (and need to be cut back so as not to get in the way of the next year's growth). Anyway, this year, one of the plants managed to squeeze out one last blossom well past the date they normally start dying back, and being in a sentimental mood about it, I wanted to share it:
