The AnimeFest 2003 AMV contest had some good entries, most of which I can't remember. The ones that I can recall include "Seasons in the Sun" done to "Grave of the Fireflies" (which won Best Drama), "Cherry Bomb" by Joan Jett done to "Slayers" (my personal favorite), "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats done to a Ghibli Medley ("The Ghibli Dance"), a South Park medley from the movie done to Evangelion (Best Comedy), "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal to "Cowboy Bebop" (which made me realize how many spoilers end up in AMVs), and "Mad World" by R.E.M. done to "Here and There, Now and Then" (or vice versa, never can remember). That last one was powerful; I generally hate R.E.M. and that anime, but the video was well crafted. I think that the full list will be up on the website eventually, but I'm not sure.
